Considering my past negative experiences with ordering from restaurants in New Jersey, I was hesitant. However, the lady I spoke to at Iyalaje's Restaurant assured me that I wouldn't regret it. For Christmas, I decided to give it a try and ordered some food. To my delight, the food was absolutely exceptional. I was thoroughly impressed. The lady followed up with me to ensure I enjoyed the food, and I expressed my satisfaction. This positive experience led me to order again for my baby's naming ceremony. It was during this occasion that I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Iyalaje herself. She was incredibly sweet and pleasant to deal with. We negotiated the price, and once again, she delivered nothing but the best. Every dish I ordered, from Eforiro to Moimoi, Ayamase to Asaro, along with goat meat, fish, and pastries, was impeccable. My guests loved it. In fact, my sister was so impressed that she ended up ordering food for Eid Al Fitr as well. I consider myself a food critic, but Iyalaje's food surpassed all expectations. Upon arriving to the restaurant around 2-3 pm, I had to be buzzed in, which I thought was odd, but nevertheless it didnt deter me as I was let in rather quickly. The restaurant seemed very dated, and not too appealing to the eyes, but acceptable for a quick pick up. The rice was a little bland, but I did enjoy the spiciness of it. The fish was not fresh at all, microwaved a bit too much, but it was the winning piece of the dish I received. My main issue, though, was the pricing of my meal. Not only was it a microwaved small plate, but I was charged $16 for what i got... I find that to be robbery. Only one piece of fish, and a bowl of rice costed me close to $20. This experience made me determine I won't be...

I ordered online, choosing the option to pay when I came to the place. Getting there, I met a pleasant lady who barely understood or spoke English. Somehow we communicated, and I realized that my online order was not valid, as she didn't get it. With minimal use of the menu, I told her what I wanted. The food took over 15mins as she had predicted. The taste of the food however didn't disappoint. I was pretty impressed by that, but everything else was just .. And the picture of the egg roll...
