Red Wok — Restaurant in Newberry

Very dissatisfied and disappointed with the service and the food! If I could, i would give 0 stars! We walked in and all of the buffet bars were picked empty (and I mean empty) and scorched looking, but we stayed because they told us they would fill them back up with fresh food. In the mean time, we grazed on what little was left. The seafood salad was rancid and I had to spit it out. Then as they started bringing things out (30 min later) the food was either under cooked (the butter shrimp and the egg rolls) or over cooked (the fried shrimp) or wasn't properly washed before cooking (the mushrooms had dirt in them and I had to go wash it out of my mouth in the bathroom). Then the server did nothing but bring our first drinks. The waited until we were ready to leave, brought our ticket, then asked if we wanted a refill and took one plate from the table. There were four of us and the ages had piled up. Most of the plates still had lots of food on them due to the bad cooking. We also noticed that the server was wrapping the sushi, then handling a dish rag, going to ring up customers, and going straight back to wrapping more sushi all without washing her hands! And after all that and the inconvenience of having to wait for food to be cooked (badly) they charged us full price for the buffet and drinks. please read I went here with my family of four, we had already checked out the ratings and called to make sure they had sushi. Everything seemed fine so we gave it a shot!

The selection is a little small for a buffet, however that was not a problem for me.

The food was terribly unfresh! I could not believe it. The sushi that was out had obviously been out for a very long time. The avocado on the sushi was all completely brown. To make matters worse, the sushi selection was INCREDIBLY small!

Oddly enough, they also mix all of their sauces with water. So the wasabi was a very runny liquid, the honey mustard was yellow water, etc.

Our server noticed something was wrong and offered to make something fresh for us. I requested sushi. She brought me a plate of sushi and it had 2 hairs on it !!!!! At this point, i am DUMBFOUNDED!

My husband immediately brought it up to her and showed her, she said 'oops sorry bout that.'

Brings us out another plate of sushi, this time with no hair.

I was able to eat that, a SALAD (you know something is wrong when youre eating a salad at a chinese buffet!) , and that was all! Even my water was bitter ???

The lo mein was so dry and old i couldnt chew through it, the rice was crunchy, absolutely everything was awful.

We truly should not have had to pay for ANY of that when 4 people could not eat!

The weirdest buffet experience I every had. The Sushi was only partly filled. Three empty plates for the Sushi. They cut up individual slices of beef and broccoli and put it in tiny bowls. I could see the beef was dried out so I didn't try it. They also had fried oysters and salmon in tiny bowls. Some of the noodles were crunchy from sitting there so long. The green beans were cold. I tired to eat what they call buttermilk biscuits. It's more like a large doughnut. I was unable to eat it as I couldn't even get a fork in it. I have no clue how this place has such high reviews.
