NOT. ALLERGY. FRIENDLY.

Edit: I’ve since found out from my wedding planner that this same thing happened to a bride she worked with. They either did this to someone else before poisoning me or did it again after poisoning me. Their negligence is utterly astounding.

I’ll try to keep this short. It’s over a year later, and I’m still pretty upset. I have celiac disease and my parents took me to Calcutta grill for my birthday. They had a menu marked for allergens. I saw sliders (marked gluten free) and ordered them after checking with the waiter that the buns were indeed gluten free. My boyfriend and mother asked again when they came to the table and we were reassured that the buns were gluten free. I ate two out of three sliders giving the third to my boyfriend. We then went to play mini golf, and I began to feel sick about halfway through. I hurried back the the club and spent the next hour or so violently ill in their public restroom. I had to take an anti-nausea pill to finally stop vomiting bile and left in an adult diaper and with some of my clothes in a plastic bag. It was utterly miserable, frightening, and humiliating, and the staff was unsympathetic and barely apologetic. They also did not gather up and immediately amend their menus, which is of greater concern. They are blacklisted for me. Their allergen markings are unreliable and their staff astoundingly negligent. I have been gluten free since my diagnosis a decade ago. I’ve eaten in other countries, communicated my needs in foreign languages, had greasy spoon and fast food meals, and never ONCE has this happened before or since. If you have a food allergy, avoid this place like the plague. I include a picture of the marked menu item in a picture that I happened to get while taking a picture of my...

Yes, they have a beautiful and serene view. Yes, the dining room is very nice and the restaurant looks very upscale. The servers try their best and are very friendly which is always appreciated.

Their biggest problem and the number one reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the food is really bad. My whole group of 8 people hated their meals. The prime rib was described as "rosemary crusted" yet it came out completely unseasoned, plain, and I was unable to even chew it because it was so tough even though I ordered a medium-rare which should normally be extremely tender. The salmon was described on the menu as having a warm dungeness crab and truffle sauce on top....I could not find the crab on top and then i lifted the fish and I kid you not...there was maybe half a teaspoon of what looked like stringy crab piece which when I bit into it was COLD as if they just took it out of the freezer and it didn't have time to defrost properly! The fish itself was very salty and tasted previously frozen and very overcooked. The potatoes the salmon came with had legit grains of salt in every bite. The short rib was extremely tough and had way too much sauce on it. All of these dishes were around $30 dollars which is extremely expensive for what we received.

Overall, a very disappointing meal. If anything, I would come here just for drinks and the view, but I am never coming here for food again. A really important lesson here: just because you have a great location and view doesn't mean you can skirt by with...

My husband and I had reservations for Valentines Day dinner and were so disappointed by our experience that we felt we had to write a review. The first red flag was that we were required to leave a credit card number in order to make the reservation. Secondly we were not told that it would be a limited and set menu. We placed our order and waited one hour and finally inquired about how long we still needed to wait for our dinner. We were told by our server that they had run out of prime rib and we would now need to make a different selection. She offered us the lobster which was not an option since my husband is deathly allergic. His only choice since he is a big meat fan, was the short ribs. Not an ideal choice for a special, expensive, romantic dinner. A group of four were seated across from us at least 20 minutes after we, were served their dinner before us and low and behold, it was prime rib. My husband hailed our server and asked how that could happen and she said that their order had somehow gotten placed before ours. We were not happy not did we believe her. When we finally got our dinner, it was not hot. She offered to reheat but by then I was so hungry that I declined and just ate my mediocre meal. My husbands short ribs had the flavor and consistency of pot roast. To top off the whole evening, we passed the kitchen and saw the chef slicing some prime...

It’s summer lovin 🤍 Calcutta Grill is my family’s favorite spot. We are definitely a regular at this restaurant. If you get a chance to go, ask for Marisa, she the manager, very knowledgeable and will make sure you are taken care of! Not only is the food great but the views are spectacular! The panoramic view of Lake Washington, Downtown Seattle, Downtown Bellevue and the Olympics Mountains and the golf course. There’s lots of space inside and outside great place for large crowds. This restaurant is also part the the Newcastle Golf course - you play before or after you eat! They hold events such as birthdays, weddings and other special events. I have literally tried everything on their menu but my top dishes I highly recommend is the Cajan Penne Pasta, Fish and Chips, Street Tacos, Chicken Wings and the King Salmon Teriyaki Salad. Their portions are huge but everything is easily shareable. If you love dessert as much as I do, you won’t be disappointed. The Apple Cranberry Crisp and Blackberry Crumble melts in your mouth and their Red Velvet Cake is heavenly. Heads up that their menu changes so it may be slightly different and you are able to make reservations.
