(Last visited 10/21/2022.) Yelp tells me I've visited this place 7 times in the last 2 years and with good reason! Now I'll tell you why that's the case!
Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off the Berlin Turnpike in Newington just mere minutes from Bae's house is this gem! I'm not going to lie, it's quite easy to drive right past this place, but what got our attention were the lit-up "igloos" that they had for outdoor seating during COVID-19 post-lockdown when restaurants were only allowed to sit people outdoors. So now you know they have a pretty decent patio for the warmer months and the inside is fairly small, maybe 10 tables or so. It's a really chill atmosphere with an open kitchen concept. There are lots of big windows to let it natural light which is one of my favorite aspects of this place.
Service: Now, truth-be-told, I've never actually eaten IN here. Lol. Bae and I have always gotten takeout. The staff here are always friendly though!
Food: My go-to here is the Mediterranean chicken salad with gyro chicken. The salad is freaking huge for one. It comes with mixed greens, tomatoes, onions, olives, cranberries, walnuts and feta cheese. The ingredients are so simple and they work together so well. The chicken is savory, hearty and deliciously seasoned. I've also had their lamb gyro and it was fantastic. The meat was succulent, juicy and FULL of flavor. It was a great size and certainly filling. The gyro came with tomatoes, onions and great tzatziki sauce. Fantastic food.
Value: The gyro was $11.00 and was totally worth it. You may want a small salad or something to go along with it though due to its heartiness. The Mediterranean salad is $14.00 and it costs $5.00 to add a portion of chicken, gyro chicken or gyro meat. Shrimp is $7.00. Not a bad deal at all considering the portions they serve.
In conclusion, Mykonos will always be a go-to of mine if I'm coming home and just want to pick something up or just simply don't feel like cooking! Lol. I will make it here to actually dine-in someday!

Read moreThis was my husband and I first time dining here. We were pleased with the food. We were brought ice cold water with an ice cold water jug, a warm loaf of bread and a small plate of garlic olive oil pretty quick after ordering our meal. It was delicious. My husband ordered an add-on side salad with our meal which was mixed greens, green pepper, cucumber, red onion, and tomato with a house-made dressing. This was very good also. We enjoyed a gyro plate with fries that we shared. The only problem we had here was a communication interaction with the waiter from the start of him coming to the table. With this being our first time dining here, we weren't sure what to expect. We asked about sharing the gyro plate and adding an extra pita to the order. He seemed confused and didn't understand what I was asking so I repeated myself again, asking if we can share the gyro plate, and add an extra pita to the order. He quickly said, okay, so you want the gyro plate and a side order of pita. When the gyro plate came to the table, he also placed down a plate that had about three pita's cut into triangles. I couldn't understand why it was so difficult to simply add one more pita to the order. While we were eating, the waiter came by and I asked if my husband and I ever ordered this again, can we just add 1 pita to the order instead of a side order, and he stated - no, we cannot add just one pita, they don't do that there. We were charged five dollars for that side order of pita, and could not finish that because it was way too much. I still don't understand why, but this is what we experienced. Despite the attitude of the waiter, behaving as if he was inconvenienced with us asking questions, we did enjoy all the food that came to the table as well as the ice cold water. This was our first stop before heading to MA and NH for our getaway weekend. I hope we experience better...
Read moreThe food is spectacular and the prices are fine for what you get. The server, Vicky, was rude and dismissive in such a way that I was speechless. When ordering, I asked a question about the grilled calamari. I told her I could not order them because oil was used to cook them. Clearly, I was limited to a specific diet. I ordered roasted peppers assuming they were not covered in oil as I roast my vegetables in lemon juice, not oil. When they came to the table, I asked Vicky what all the juices were on the plate. She told me it was a garlic and oil blend. I said I couldn't eat them and she said brusquely, "Well, you shoulda told me that when you ordered them!" She let them sit on the table for the rest of the meal and charged me $8. She glared at me, noticed by my son as well, and refused to give me lemon that I asked for as my dressing for a garden salad until I had to ask her again. She had a horrific attitude which is so hard to articulate as her glaring and then ignoring attitude is hard to explain. In my decades of restaurant experience, if a part of your meal cannot be eaten especially when your customer is MEDICALLY limited to a specific diet, the part of the meal or meal itself is taken away and substitutes are offered. I have always loved Mikonos especially prior to this restricted diet, but this girl needs to go or...
