We had been looking forward to trying Camp and we were excited to finally ski over for lunch. The atmosphere was warm and rustic, the service was friendly, and the food was solid—exactly what you’d hope for after a morning on the slopes. Prices are definitely on the higher side, which is understandable given the location. We paid $220 (with a 20% tip) for three of us to grab a light lunch. However, one frustrating experience put a damper on an otherwise great meal. As an annual pass holder, I realized we didn’t get our discount — something our server never asked about, and unfortunately, we didn’t remember until after paying. When we brought it up just a few minutes later, the manager told us there was nothing he could do since the check was already closed. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, it was disappointing that there was no flexibility to adjust for a simple oversight, especially at a resort where many guests are loyal season pass holders. Sunday River would be smart to take a page out of the Disney Resort’s playbook: always ask customers if they are pass holders or other type of loyalty member. Annnd…if for some reason an employee doesn’t ask and the guest forgets to mention their status, make the necessary adjustment to the bill - especially if it’s only minutes after the transaction was complete. A quick mention from the staff when presenting the check—just a “Are you a pass holder?”—could help others avoid the same issue in the future. It’s a small touch that would go a long way in making pass holders feel valued and encourage non-pass holders to become one! Cynics could make the argument that Sunday River intentionally trains their employees NOT to ask about discounts so they could make more money. No matter where you go on the mountain, you’re never asked about discounts despite the fact that the 10% dining discount is prominently displayed with every level of pass holder benefits on their website! That said, I’d still recommend Camp for its convenient ski in/out access off the mountain, cozy setting and good food—just be aware of the price point and be sure to ask for your pass holder discount before you pay!

Came here for an early lunch on a Tuesday in February and the place was completely empty. Despite looking closed, we were sat and had a solid meal. My group all had sandwiches - french dip, fried haddock and a burger. All were fresh and delicious. Fries seemed house made and were perfectly crisped. Lunch prices were similar to the Foggy Goggle at the base, so it's odd more people don't come here mid-day. Server/host was a quirky funny Mainer. Last season we visited for the breakfast buffet and had a similar experience. A seemingly hidden gem.

Excellent food tonight at Camp! The server Tara was extremely accommodating. Northern states do not understand much about the importance of sweet tea to those from the South. Tara went above and beyond to meet the needs of our party and mixed up sweet tea for me. Andrew was nice and shared details about the restaurant and the buffet. Thank you for the only place in the area who offered real southern vegetables.

If we could give this restaurant zero stars, we would. The food was absolutely horrible. My husband and son were so looking forward to a prime rib and it was ice cold and raw. They also never received the AU jus that it’s supposed to come with, according to the menu Me and my mother-in-law got the baked haddock that was supposed to have seafood stuffing on it but instead it just had a sprinkle of breadcrumbs and it was also raw and are green beans were raw, the au gratin potatoes that came with it we’re so soaked in grease and butter that we couldn’t even eat them. The service was terrible. Our plan was to take our food home and re-cook it so when the waitress asked us if we wanted it wrapped, we said yes she collected our plates and then came back with one empty container for my husband’s food. Our minds were blown. She literally threw away five full plates of food that we wanted to try to salvage seeing that the cheapest plate was $35. Seeing that not one person ate any of their food you would think the waitress would’ve asked if everything was OK but apparently she didn’t care because I’m sure the looks on our faces said million words. Such a sad and disappointing evening. We went there to celebrate a late Christmas with my in-laws who live out of town, and the experience was so...

We booked through OpenTable and we're pleasantly surprised on arrival to find a well developed and beautiful resort dedicated to skiing on the slopes behind it, but also offering a Thanksgiving Buffet, which is what brought us there. The bar is beautiful, the lobby sumptuous and huge with a gorgeous seating area around an enormous gas fireplace. The buffet left a bit to be desired as the flavors were bland, the turkey was extremely dry (you were able to request dark meat but had to wait for it to come out, and even it was dry) but the fish and shrimp were fresh and tasty. The waitstaff we're attentive and the seating was comfortable, though why we were seated in the bar when we had a reservation for the buffet dinner left a little to the imagination. They were not full in the restaurant when we arrived, and when I asked for a table in the restaurant instead of the bar I was told they were "reserved". I had a reservation so I'm not sure what he meant by that, unless they offer double super secret reservation seating. Anyway, the ambiance was wonderful, the service good, but the...
