I had a complaint that the coffee wasn't very hot, they apologized for it and made a fresh pot which was piping hot. They even gave me a 4 dollar gift card for my troubles. What cheap insurance this is so that you don't lose your customer base due to minor things that can sometimes turn off a customer quickly and have them going somewhere else. Hopefully this place will close in the near future for an interior/exterior renovation which will reflect well on the new apartments adjacent to it. I hope a future design will allow for a double door vestibule type of entry/exit that will prevent cold air from permeating the serving and seating area. I don't know how the help puts up with all that cold air making its way in at busy times of the morning when the temps are below 35F. Many other coffee shops have this double door vestibule entry/exit, in other words you pull on 2 doors to enter and push on 2 doors to exit which eliminates much of the cold air from entering the store proper. I am sure older adults like myself have marveled as to how chilly this place can get with the door opening 5 to 10 times a minute...
Read moreThe wait times and accuracy of the orders were terrible. I waited for 15 min for my $27 order. My kids got their fancy drinks after these 15 min wait. I can accept it when things are busy but the store was empty when I arrived and filled up a bit during the wait. They forgot my 'simple' cappuccino and the 'ready to pick' lemon pound cake. Upon inquiry after 20 min, they informed me they were out of pound cake; nobody notified me. And then she walked away and -again- forgot about my cappuccino. The personnel seems generally unhappy and somewhat grumpy. They drop drinks down on the receive counter with the labels pointing away from the customers and mostly don't call out names. I have noticed the same in other Starbucks locations, namely the one in Auburndale Newton. Starbucks is getting worse and worse around Newton, MA. I am...
Read moreThis place is such a hit or miss. I now believe that this Starbucks is secretly trying to help me get rid of my soy chai tea addiction and it's working. My husband and I had a few minutes free and decided to take a walk to get some fresh air. Stopped in at this Starbucks and stood at the register to place my order. Only person on line and surprisingly, there appeared to be sufficient staff working today. However, I stood there for 10 mins without receiving so much as an acknowledgement that someone would be right with me. Not a single person came to take my order. Finally walked out.
This place was great in April last year but started going downhill quickly. Now it's just awful.
Thanks for curing my addiction...at least when I'm close to home. The quality of the chai tea was also going...
