I ordered FU CHOW LUCKY FRIED RICE. The online menu on the website (rice valley) doesn’t give a description of what it is. But when u order online there is a description that says (pls see my pic!) shrimp, chicken, bbq pork, egg, vegetables and stir fried. What i got was shrimp, scallops, green beans, NO FRIED RICE only white rice, all with a gravy over it. I have an allergy scallops and was very upset the item was not what the menu said. NO bbq pork NO chicken, NO “all stir-fried together. Here’s the RUB: I called the restaurant, Rice Valley and explained what happened. They transferred me to a manager and I told him. He said, “yes what u got is FU Lucky fried Rice.” “The menu description isn’t ours, it’s Door Dashes description!” I told the manager that I am allergic to scallops and I want a refund or make it the way the menu says it’s supposed to be made. He told me to, “call Door Dash and ask them to change the menu description!” And “ask them for a refund!” I can’t believe he’s having me trying to fix his mistake. I called Door Dash and of course they’re not going to do any refunds or anything! Door dash said it’s the restaurants fault. And they asked where i saw the menu. I told Door Dash it was on the company website but it looks like I was transferred to a Door Dash site because on the bottom of the page it says “powered by Door Dash!” Door dash is their partner!! If u click on the privacy policy or terms and conditions it brings u to Door Dash. Also Door Dash added a fee without telling me until after I paid. There was a delivery fee $5, tip fee, taxes, then some weird “service fee $4” what is this? I put down 0 for tip. So why did I get charged a “service fee?” Such scammers! Do u know that most door dash drivers get paid by the hour? Minimum wage of $15 per hour? It’s true ask them! The drivers have an option of not getting paid by the hour and tip only but the drivers have no clue what the tip was. So I’m betting door dash doesn’t give the drivers the full tip. So why this service fee??

The mai tai is legendary... and strong! Our go-to dish is the vegetable udon noodles with soft tofu, but if you want to he healthy, add some chili sauce & a bit of soy sauce to the steamed veggies with tofu. The recently added sushi is simple but refreshing. Lots of fruit options and sometimes they'll make us an extra sushi salad! We love to sit at the bar as a couple, but at a table when we come with the kids. The staff are very friendly. Service is amazingly quick. The restaurant does huge amounts of take-out. Clearly a very popular spot. It's our regular neighborhood destination for Chinese food... we won't bother with any other place unless we're headed into Boston. Parking is on street, metered. Close to commuter rail.

This place has it all: Great food, great service, and even parking! It’s very hard finding authentic Chinese food in Newton, but this place offers all the classic Chinese dishes. I’ve tried just about all of their appetizers- not a single dish I did not like. Portion sizes are great as well, so you can share with friends and family. Such a cozy environment I highly recommend! Ps. Don’t forget to crack open the fortune cookies😉

This past week we ordered "take out" from Rice Valley. We'd done so in late winter and enjoyed a delicious “take out” meal. Our latest order was Crab Rangoon, Crispy Sesame Chicken, Pork with Black Bean Sauce and Pork Fried Rice. With the exception of the crab rangoon, the rest of the meal was a big, big disappointment. We couldn’t believe the food had come from the same restaurant. The Crispy Sesame Chicken wasn’t crispy, with a gummy coating and meat so tough you needed a steak knife to cut it. The Pork Fried Rice was overcooked and greasy. There was no pork with Black Bean Sauce. Instead there was a very chewy beef with Red and Green Peppers and it was too late to go back to exchange it. This was a most unhappy dining experience. Too bad too for we like Chinese food very much and doubt if we'll try the...

First and last time trying Rice Valley. I ordered scallion pancakes and there was no dipping sauce. It's always been ginger sauce from other Chinese restaurants. We ordered chicken fingers, which had raw batter on the inside. We also ordered noodles in a "garlic and wine sauce". There was no sauce. When I tried to take the noodles out, it was one box shaped clump. Okay, it's New Years Eve. They are very busy. Things happen. So I called the restaurant and explained my issues. They said they would call me back. When they did, the woman tried to convince me that there is not supposed to be any sauce on the noodles. We did not get any further because instead of offering to fix the order, they tried to make excuses. That is why they are getting this bad review. Also, the food that was made correctly...
