Taco Tico — Restaurant in Newton

For those of us who were distraught with the closing of the Taco Tico’s the reopening of several old locations was a welcome relief. I no longer live in the area but each time I come back for a visit Taco Tico is a must stop. The Newton location is one of the best around. Since reopening I have stopped here many times as a welcome break off the interstate for a quick refuel for my stomach. All of the old menu favorites have survived and remain true to their original tastes. Serving sizes are generous and the Newton staff is always very friendly and courteous. Got 2 crispy flour tacos and an order of crustos and a drink. The tacos were fantastic. Full of meat and veggies..the taco shells were fresh and crispy. Of course the green chili sauce was so yummy. Crustos were fresh as well and had a good amount of sugar on them. Thank you for that!! The drink was very good too. So nice to have friendly people serve me. No Longer my favorite place. The meat was weird so I called to see if they'd changed it, and they hadn't. I threw it out and since I was on my way back home to Kansas City the manager told me she'd put me in the book for replacements. Now returning they "can't find it" in the book. 2 people got on to let me know I wasn't in the book. How embarrassing. I'm not about to go to a restaurant asking for free food that I'm not entitled too. This used to be the one place I'd look forward to when visiting Newton. But they just lost...
