Anejo Cocina Parkway – St. Augustine, FL 📍 Address: 650 E Twincourt Trail, Suite 202, St. Augustine, FL 32095
My husband and I decided to go out for burritos last night, but our usual spot had already closed. So we gave Anejo Cocina Parkway a try—and we’re glad we did!
🌯 Although the menu lists a California burrito, they actually don’t serve a true, authentic one. My husband was born and raised in California, and as a cook himself, he definitely noticed the difference! If the restaurant owner would like to reach out to my husband and have him show them how to create an authentic California burrito, he’d gladly do so—with a little bit of pay. That way, they can offer both the authentic version and their revised one as options for customers. 😄
🥑 The rest of the experience was great! From the moment we walked in (even though it was pretty late), we were seated right away. The server brought out chips, salsa, and drinks super quickly—and everything was fresh, even at the end of the night.
🎶 The atmosphere was clean, beautiful, and well-lit. They had Spanish-style music playing at just the right volume—fun, but not too loud to talk over.
✨ Guillermo was fantastic—definitely ask for him when you go there!
🅿️ Parking: Since it's outside the historic district area, parking is much easier—plenty of free spots in the shopping plaza. 🕒 Hours: Sun: 11 AM – 9 PM Mon–Thurs: 11 AM – 10 PM Fri–Sat: 11 AM – 11 PM
💲 Price Range: Moderate – $$ (Great portions, fair prices, and a full bar.)
📌 FYI: Anejo Cocina is part of a small local chain, with other locations in Ponte Vedra Beach and Jacksonville.
✅ All in all, a great experience! The food was delicious, the service was top-notch, and we left full and happy. We’ll definitely be back (and who knows—you might see my husband in the kitchen helping them craft the perfect California...
Read moreWe have been to this location before and had a fine experience. This particular day we stopped in for lunch and a drink. We got our food and drink in a timely manner with no issues. Once we got our food our server didn’t come back to check on us for a while. I found a long dark hair in the lunch tacos that I ordered and set it aside to show the server. He came back, I showed him the hair and he took my plate of food back to the kitchen. He came back and told me “There are only men working in the kitchen”. I am blonde and my hair was pulled back so I explained that it couldn’t have been my hair. He said okay and left. I was never offered for another meal to be made, instead I sat while the rest of my party finished their lunch. The server finally returned with check in hand. The check HAD MY FOOD STILL ON THE BILL. The issue here is not that the food was still on the tab, but that at no point was I offered another meal, instead my food was taken and I wasn’t acknowledged again. We spoke to the manager and he reiterated “there are no women in the kitchen and we aren’t taking it off”. All this to say that we will not be returning to this location as their customer service has to be some of the worst I have ever had. Overall a very disappointing experience. A picture added with a lady who was indeed working in the...
Read moreSadly, this wasn't a great experience. We ordered the red snapper, which needed something more, a sauce, spice, something... The street corn was good. The margaritas were sweet. We have a picky eater son, we noticed a 3 steak taco meal for $16.50, which included rice, beans, and the usual toppings for them, and we told the waitress we'd rather have 3 steak tacos plain, just the meat and the sour cream on the side. She went back to verify that we can do the tacos à la carte for steak at $3.50 each ($10.50) in total.
The bill showed up with my son's tacos at $10.50 for 3, an additional $7.50 because a la carte, plus another $1.75 for sour cream. We brought it to her attention, she got a menu, and admitted she didn't tell us about the additional charge, apologized, and she'll only remove the sour cream. My wife points out that we asked for less than what the menu has, the 3 steak tacos with all the fixings, and we paid more, which made no sense. Again, she admits her mistake, but only enough to remove the sour cream charge. It was quite disappointing.
To top it all off, she says I hope you return considering or in this case you may never return to us. Double-check your bill on the way...
