Fabio's Pizza & Delivery — Restaurant in Norfolk

First of all… I have passed by this place so many times and never paid it any mind. I didn’t even know it was a pizza place…

I won’t do that again.

I came across it on an app where restaurants sell their food at a discount at the end of the night. I said I’d try it out. That’s how I try a lot of new takeout places without spending an arm and a leg. When I pulled into the small parking lot, I was like oh boy… 😒 Came in, first they made a pizza for me from scratch, which I wasn’t expecting. The young man behind the counter was soooooo nice and personable. The cook was busy… well, cooking lol… Other customers came in while I was there… quite a few actually. Despite that, I didn’t have a long wait at all and went home with a pizza that I wasn’t too sure about. It was hot. It looked pretty. But I’m from NY/NJ and we know pizza and I wasn’t impressed by the looks of it.

HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised. It was well done. Flavorful. The crust was nice and crispy and yet soft at the same time. The slices were foldable. The cheese was great quality.

They won me over when I went in and got a fresh pizza. I really wasn’t expecting that. Most places on that app give you great food, but it’s usually (always) pre-made.

Fabio’s will get my business outside of the app as well. Excellent staff. Excellent service. Excellent pizza. 10/10. 👌🏽

Hands down, the best pizza I've had in many years. I moved out west for 8 years. The pizza is terrible. I moved to VA Beach 3 weeks ago. The first place I tried was awful and shall remain nameless. Fabio's pizza is flavorful, authentic, and delicious. I knew it would be amazing when I called to place my order. I spoke to the kindest woman. I arrived to pick up my order at "the cornor" pizza spot. I walk in, and the gentlemen greeted me like I was an old friend. From start to finish, this was a pleasurable experience. I waited until I got home to try the food porn, (I hope that doesn't insult anyone) even though the smell was engulfing my truck. The only bite that was better than my first was my last. My 14 yo son affirmed, "This is the best pizza I've ever had!" I could go on but I think everyone who reads this will understand how wonderful I feel...

The pepperoni was nice maybe a little thick but still pretty. The cheese was delicious with an even amount & the crust had a good aftertaste but the undercarriage had no crisp except towards the back end which was beautiful...I mean if the whole pizza could be crunchy/crisp, like the back end was, this pizza would definitely get a strong 8....that's my opinion..But it was super floppy and it needed to be cooked about 4 Or 6 minutes longer. They had me taste the marinara sauce which they claim was homemade, but whomever made it slammed the gas pedal to the floor with the salt. So that is a no go unless they change their salt content. The sauce on the pizza had a really good ratio and a nice smooth taste not too zingy or bland. If they tweak a few things, this spot could be veeeerrrry promising. I always forget to take a picture so...
