My husband works midnights as a first responder so sometimes he just wants a meal before bed. We decided to try Jesse's because its on the way home and they open at 6am.
First, they actually called me to make sure my order was right because they had a breakfast and lunch version of their steak. She was incredibly nice on the phone and they were so great to my husband when he picked it up. We ordered off of uber eats which didn't show properly so thats why she called to confirm.
Second, everything was so well wrapped and they made sure we had everything he'd need.
We ordered the crab omelet, chicken fried steak, some pancakes, and stuffed French toast. The crab tasted SO fresh, and the strawberries on the French toast were absolutely perfect 😍😍 Breakfast isnt really my thing so I chose the steak and it was fantastic, very soft and seasoned so well. Their gravy and potatoes are so good!! The corn chowder that came with mine had a bit of a smokey scent so I was worried it was burnt? But it ended up being creamy, smokey, a little sweet, a little spicy, and just honestly one of my new favorite soups ever.
We had to tell ourselves to stop eating and put the leftovers away otherwise we would have eaten it all in one go.
We didn't try any today but the menu did show some juice, coffee, milkshakes, sandwiches, and just a whole bunch of things if you're like us and only one person actually likes...
Read moreWent to Capone's today after church to enjoy some breakfast to be greeted with a slew of ants on the walls and crawling on the table. Tried to overlook that due to the season that we are in, however, when my mom's hashbrowns came to the table, there was a COOKED fly in them. At first, when her plate came to the table, we attributed the dark black speck to something that may have came off the grill, however, after she had started eating the food, she noticed the shape was oval and then she moved it with her butter knife and it flipped on its side to show WINGS. Talk about wanting to throw up right at the table! We were there! To ice the cake, after we brought it to the waitress attention, she picks the fly up with her bare hands and takes it back to the kitchen to the cook and explains that it was cooked in our food and the cook says "NUT UHH". Like really! Who carries around cooked FLIES in their purse to put in food to make a complaint! We should have seen the writing on the wall when there were NO PEOPLE in the restauraunt but US right after 11am! Every other breakfast place in Tidewater is PACKED at this time! Do not eat at this place. You might get a ROACH...

A Perfect Double Cheeseburger!
The Jesse's Burger is your American Double Cheeseburger classic, but served perfectly! Not too salty and not bland at all.
The double melted cheese blended well with the tender meat patties which were never frozen.
There was a right amount of salt and a Thousand Island Dressing which gave the all American classic a certain zest.
Of course, I added some sweetness to this entrée with ketchup, but honestly, it did not need it. The onions were crispy, the lettuce tasted fresh, and the tomato was perfectly sliced and juicy while the bread was also soft and chewable.
The fries were also very impressive because they were precisely sliced from an actual potato with some of the skin left on. It was easy to bite into and were very savory with that real potato flavor.
I ended the meal with A La Mode which was an apple pie served with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
Jesse's Place is definitely my...
