Oro Azteca Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Norfolk

My three sisters and nephew call this place the five-minute Mexican restaurant, why you might be thinking this place's food comes out fast the food is hot! It's delicious! 😋 we were practically salivating over our meal. We all love the food from this restaurant, this is where we differ My three sisters love the white sauce I didn't, they said something is wrong with my taste buds🙄. We loved the service we received on two separate occasions our waiter was amazing the first time we ate at the restaurant our waiter Hector was amazing Hector we appreciate you we came back to the restaurant the second time not just because the food was great but because the service was amazing. The second time our waiter was Juan again we had a fantastic experience, Thank you to both our waiters. Each time we visit the restaurant we have had a great experience. So I have to admit I have no idea on the service or atmosphere because I ordered this to go. So ignore those five stars I just didn't know what to give it.... I ordered to go a cheese quesadilla which was super small like just barely bigger than the size of my hand and carne asada dinner which all of the additions looked great but the carne asada was so thin and tasteless it was terrible.... Really unfortunate. Awesome they forgot my tortillas which is a bummer because they're supposed to come with the meal. Based on all the other reviews I feel like the service and atmosphere probably great but I don't know cuz I got to go. I just don't understand a place it says carne asada and they don't even season their meat and they don't ask you how you want it prepared and they cook it all the way like done done like well done. Just super unfortunate.... on the plus side we came with chips and salsa and the bean dip I ordered was good. Not quite sure why this place has so many good reviews but it must be something that you get and experience in if you're in the restaurant...

My husband and I went there after his training for the day. We were greeted right away and quickly sat- even with the busy lunch hour. Coming in you could see how popular the place was, so I had a feeling that the food would be good. Now, I’m picky with salsa and love it spicy- which it was spicy for my husband (I have a relatively high spice tolerance), but the salsa was still delicious for me! I have to say it’s probably the best salsa I had in a while. I am vegetarian, so I always order from that menu- which their food was good! I enjoyed what I ordered and would love to go back when I am near the naval base. I live in Franklin and do travel regularly to Norfolk, so I plan on coming back again soon. The customer service was wonderful by the way! I am huge into customer service due to my own background with dealing with customers. Even with the stress of a busy hour, they were very accommodating. I do recommend trying out Oro Azteca! It even has good options for the picky kiddos or adults. They will not disappoint...
