The owner will screw over his employees when brushville played his last parking lot party Craig took all the tips from his employees didn’t give them their tips for like three days and picked some of their tips to pay for the band he doesn’t pay his employees he owes employees money owes his venders money and had his power shut off to the business cause he can’t pay his bills he still owes my girl for her last check and that was 5 months ago he doesn’t care about his employees at all when confronting him his quote on quote is I can get anybody in her to work your right Craig you can but hard working employees that actually care is hard to come by and he doesn’t care he will screw anyone just to make a buck this place is a horrible ran establishment and not to mention he fired his guys in the kitchen that were good employees for a chief who is trying to make it a 5 star place you want a 5 star place open a real restaurant the food service wait time sucks would t recommend this place to anyone also not to mention he almost got shut down my the health department cause his restaurant and kitchen was nasty and disgusting they were one point away from being shut down it...

A friend and I drove 3 hours to try this place out.... and it was well worth it. Out in the middle of no where (compared to life in Chicago), the Lake Road Inn has that nostalgic supper club feel I have known from the U.P. of MI mixed with a tropical Key West vibe on the patio where you are surrounded with tropical plants, a koi pond and some of the friendliest people you can meet. What truly blew us away was the quality of food we encountered! We started with a Shrimp Ceviche that was so fresh and amazingly seasoned. This was followed by Irish Nachos, a suggestion by our amazing waiter Jeff! Deliscious! Main course? A NY strip that was so perfectly cooked I would have sworn it came from a steakhouse in Downtown Chicago. Amazingly prepared with smashed potatoes and green beans. The entire dish could not have been more expertly prepared and seasoned! If you spend any time in Bloomington/Normal you need to take the time to hit The Lake Road Inn. You will not be let down. Walk in , chalkboard says steak night . Order steak . Wait 5 min then told out of steak. 5 more min I’m told they have steak. It came off a restaurant food supply truck that got lost for a year because it had zero flavor or freshness about it. Cooked on flat top , edge overcooked that it was rubber. I actually give the steak -1 star and the baked potato so overcooked the skin stuck to the skin and off color contents. Salad, kids portion and room temp. Texas toast cold. Atmosphere-3 stars , the floor in the whole place was disgusting, no window treatments , shotty remodel from two decades ago , stained and splashed food or juice on the wall. Bugs on window ledge, noisey , no sound deadening nothing , dated chairs never wiped down. Cloth napkin smelled like it sat in the washing machine for three days before dried . Two people , steak dinner , drank only water $85 , absolutely the worst value for a meal in my lifetime . First and last...
