Sonic as a whole has become just such a disappointing, sub-par place to eat, but this specific location is the worst of the lot. My daughter and I stopped in for a quick snack. We were brought someone else's order. Luckily, right as I noticed it, the carhop came back out with the correct order, and told us to go ahead and keep the wrong one too if we wanted it. But then, when we looked in the correct bag, my order was still incorrect. So I buzzed and let them know. They finally brought me my correct order, but it was still frozen halfway through. By that point, my daughter was finished with her snack, and I didn't want to risk any more mess-ups, so I just came home and tossed my cheddar peppers in the air fryer for a few minutes. But this experience is pretty much par for the course in Little Axe.
I do not put this complaint on the shoulders of the cooks, cashiers, or carhops. I don't even put it on the store managers too much. I know from experience in retail that this is a snowballed issue that starts way up the ladder, and one we need to stop allowing without a fight. Fast food places like this are paying people absolute peanuts to work in understaffed conditions with constantly-changing schedules. These workers are fatigued from working long hours in chaotic environments while also having to constantly worry about how they're gonna pay their bills. You want better service out of people? You want them to take pride in their work and make happy customers? Pay them a living wage. No, pay them a THRIVING wage. Start these people at $25/hr with excellent benefits. Give them a solid schedule that they can depend on from one week to the next. Provide paid sick and vacation days. Allow and encourage them to unionize. HIRE MORE PEOPLE so you don't have one cook doing the work of 3.
We're all sick of living under the old "trickle down" model. It's time to start...
Read more*Following what happened the other evening, I would like to express my appreciation to Sonic Corporate as well as the franchise owner. Following the review, Sonic replied and I did file a complaint and they were very apologetic. Also, the franchise owner called me personally to apologize and offer me to come in for a free meal. That kind of follow-up means a lot and is very much appreciated! With that willingness to follow-up will make me willing to visit that location again. ———————-
Ordered a chili cheese coney with mustard and onions. Brought it out without the mustard and onions. Realized this and hit the Red button and asked them to bring me out mustard and onions…and I waited…ate all my fries and waited…and waited some more. Hit the red button again…and waited…and waited…and waited…no answer so I hit my horn (didn’t lay on my horn…just hit my horn). Manager comes out and I told her what was going on. She told me they were about to answer the button but then hung up when I hit my horn. Then a hop came out with mustard and onions (about 10 minutes after I told them of the mistake) and I told them I didn’t want it anymore because I was afraid they had spit in it or something. She rolls her eyes and snarkily said to the hop that I didn’t want it because I was afraid they had done something to it. So I hit my horn again. She told me to leave or they were going to call the police. So I hit my horn again as I was backing out. She told me to leave again(which I was already doing). Peeled out a bit while I was leaving. Meanwhile the hop was giving me the double middle fingers. Note: I never cussed, didn’t threaten anyone, and didn’t throw anything on the ground. There were only two other cars pulled up to order so they weren’t busy. I’ll be calling and reporting...
Read moreI'm not usually a person to complain and it does not take much to make me happy. But when you order through the app and then end up waiting 20 minutes after arriving for only 2 drinks that's a little ridiculous. That's ok though, I am a patient person. If that had been the only disappointment I would not be here writing this though. When our order did finally arrive the carhop did apologize for the wait claiming they were waiting on tea to brew. There is absolutely NO way that was fresh tea! It literally tasted like it had been in the urn for days! If it was indeed fresh tea then that urn needs to be thoroughly cleaned. I used to work at Sonic for many years and was shocked at the laziness when it came to keeping the tea urns clean. They MUST be taken completely apart and washed EVERY SINGLE DAY! The spigot builds up mold and debre if you don't. You cannot just rinse it out!! This has happened far to many times at this location and I have asked privately several times to remedy this. This is such a simple fix that should not have to be brought to corporate attention. Such a shame really that this location cares so little for it's costumers. I was so excited when it was built as I live so far out in the country it was too far of a drive to go into town for my sonic cravings. Unfortunately I will not be back to this location and neither will my family. You have just lost 15 customers over...
