I gave this business 2 stars for the following reasons:

After reading the reviews I was sure that this is where my daughter’s third birthday cake was coming from. I went to the shop and showed them a picture of what I wanted. The baker agreed and even suggested that my daughter’s favorite candy chocolate M&M will come falling out when she cuts the cake.

Pros:

The cake looked exactly as I had it in the picture and was made in timely manner.

Cons: -The price is not justified because the cake tasted like a $10-15 Market Basket Cake. -No M&M’s came falling out when we cut the cake and later on we found the M&M’s stuffed in the middle of the cake and it didn’t come falling out.

75% of the cake was left untouched because of the low taste quality. If I really wanted a basic cake from MB or stop and shop then I wouldn’t have a specialist make one. I was really disappointed in the quality of the cake. I cannot say enough good things about Cakes by Design! This is the third year that I've ordered treats from there for my daughters' spring birthdays. Over the years, Lina has made us 3 gorgeous (and delicious!) cakes, strawberry-shaped cake pops, decorated cookies, and delicious gluten-, dairy-, nut-free cupcakes for guests with allergies. This year's cake was a 2-tier Rainbow My Little Pony Cake that took my breath away--I couldn't help but hug Lina, the owner, when I picked it up! It was beautiful; she is truly an artist. My daughter loved it, and party guests kept asking me where I got this amazing cake. The ordering experience was great too. Lina responded to my phone call the same day I left my initial voicemail. I emailed her some images that had inspired me and she invited me into the shop to discuss. She gave me many different suggestions and options, and even offered a cake-topper option that lowered the price considerably. I recently ordered a cake from Cakes By Design Edible Art for my sister's 50th birthday party. When I first called the shop I wasn't exactly sure what cake design I wanted, but the owner, Lina, was so terrific to work with. She was so patient and offered her expert advice, leaving me feeling confident in the final design I decided on. On the day of the party, I walked into the shop to pick up the cake, and I was absolutely astonished by the amazing work of art sitting on the counter. The cake was truly spectacular. I was in awe over the intricate detail and pure perfection. Not only was it jaw dropping to look at, it was also so moist and delicious. Lina and her staff are top notch. Everyone at the party raved about how beautiful the cake was and asked where I got it.
