The Good-
3 stars because they serve Richardson's amazing ice cream at a fair price, and give you quite a lot of it. Young girl behind the counter was polite and friendly, and greeted us with a pleasant smile.
The atmosphere is bright and kid-friendly, but leaves something to be desired (see The Not So Good section)
There was a good selection of flavors, and lots of options for desserts.
The Not So Good-
2 stars were deducted for the following reasons:
The older woman serving the ice cream was not wearing gloves and had loose, slightly above shoulder length hair. When scooping ice cream her hands would touch the ice cream and her hair would hang over it. She could easily lose a hair into it. Unsanitary practices.
When asked if they served chai lattes, tea, or drinks of that nature, neither employee knew. How do you not know what you serve??
Lastly, the shop itself seemed not very well taken care of which left it with kind of a decrepit atmosphere. Some flavors were blocked off, but the things blocking them were hanging off and not actually blocking the flavor. The blackboard had food items listed, with prices. However, about half of the food items just had a $ sign with no number after it. Does that mean it's out of stock or the price had changed or what? The menu was scattered all over the shop, and if you didn't know specifically where to look it was hard to figure out what they sell. Not to mention every section of the menu was written differently, leaving no sense of cohesion and making it extra hard to locate.
Overall not a bad experience, but certainly not the best. Will probably make the slightly longer drive to Smolak Farms down the road which has fantastic ice cream as well, or to...
Read moreI've gone here several times and enjoyed the ice cream after taking my daughters to Drummond park. There are signs saying that they don't have a public restroom but give customers the key. I've asked before and have seen other customers ask as well. Tonight, as I was leaving with my 3 year old and 1 year old I asked the woman and she said they don't have public restrooms. I told her I have used it before and just watched someone else use it. She said no, they we're using the back exit. So I started to walk away and she said, "If it's for your daughter, you can use it". This was in front of a bunch of customers. I said no thank you and walked out angry. Does it matter WHO needs to use the bathroom, Lady! Seriously. What if I said I was pregnant? Who are you to decide who gets to use the restroom! I will never go there again. There are plenty of ice cream parlors in the area.
She could have handled it better instead of embarrassing me in front of other customers. It's one thing if it was a teenager but she...
Read moreAn ice cream shop haunted by ghosts ?!?!? Went here, a random google search for ice cream late one October night. In a tiny, quiet, old area of North Andover. The Ice cream was REALLY good, and they make their very own hot fudge sauce using pure chocolate (and also dip their cones in it i think)!!, don't go here without trying it! Also, something was verrrrrry spooky about the place as nice as it was, a VIBE I got, lol. Then.... I found out that it is the same house/location of a witch who was hung long ago. Mary Parker was her name (Google search it!) VERY creepy :P Of course you can't tell, because it's a cute, cozy ice cream spot and the owner and workers are very friendly. So, overall, a great place to take your family, Or go solo. Or, ghost hunters as well ??!!! :) You would have to go there, if you dare, and see for yourself if you detect any strange spooky vibes, orrrrrr if it's just a normal, ghost free spot, and enjoy ice cream while doing so....
