Went here for the first time, and our server Ashley was amazing. So nice, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. I got the crabcake sandwich with fries. The fries were delicious. Very similar to thrashers or boardwalk fries. The crabcake was very good. It was definitely huge and when they say no filler, they mean it. It was practically falling apart for lack of filler. I got the garlic aioli on the side and it was really tasty. It's definitely worth the price. My only very minor observation is, it had a little bit of a briny taste. It wasn't bad, but noticeable. It wouldn't stop me from ordering it again, but hopefully it was just random. I've noticed that I get that flavor sometimes when I make them at home if I'm using canned meat and don't rinse it well. But it was still a solid 4.5 and maybe it was just me. I'm weird lol. My aunt got it too and said nothing. My bf got the burger and mac and cheese and loved them. The mac and cheese was very good and made with cavatappi pasta, which is my favorite. I want to go back and try more things. I was also told there's a rotating menu, and the new one starts October 9. So if you see anything you want to try, go before it changes. The setting is beautiful. I loved looking at the water, and there's outside seating. Food came fast and there was plenty of parking. I'm...
Read moreFirst time here and was enjoying the outdoor experience with my husband tonight and ordered a crab salad, hushpuppies, orange crush, beer and a dozen large crabs 🦀 I noticed two of the crabs were very light in weight and the crab claws were missing the legs specifically so I mentioned this to our Waitress and she said she would bring out two new ones. To my surprise a man came out to my table and had the two crabs in his hand that I had given my waitress and began to explain to me that those crabs were just fine and begins to dissect them in front of me one piece at a time saying the crabs had plenty of meat and what appeared to have a serious problem with what I was reporting. He began to tell me its July and he has been doing this for 30 years and if I wanted to wait 35 minutes I could but the steamer was backed up and I told him no thanks. He threw down the 2 now dissected crabs in front of me and walked away. Only to find out it was the owner - thanks Mr Moore for ruining our dinner and fingering my food with your bare hands to the point I was disgusted - needless to say we didnt finish, paid our...
Read moreFamily-run seafood restaurant in Deale focused on fresh, seasonal, local dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Their menu is updated often, which offers diners surprises for their palates. Great views of the waterfront from their outdoor dining area. Excellent service.
The tofu banh mi was excellent. The tofu was full of flavor and accompanied by a sweet, creamy sauce and fresh / pickled veggies. The bread had a light crust and a chewy inside.
The local oysters were cold and fresh, complemented with a nice horseradish.
The caprese came with their house-pulled chili mozzarella with fresh heirloom tomatoes. The chili added a subtle flavor to the mozzarella and the thin pulled mozzarella strips added a nice texture to each bite.
The brussel sprouts were crisp, although a bit heavy on the salt.
Special thanks to Brittani for the great service and recommendations for their dishes and places of interest in Deale. Great appreciation to Melissa (co-owner) who came out and shared Wharf 38’s history and background on...
