The experience on this restaurant tonight was bad and sad. First I will tell you, the server it was not very friendly, since we arrive I don't feel welcome but I stay because my aunt loves Italian food, then we check the menu and honestly prices are expensive, so we pick the lasagna $17.00 if u want a salad is $4.99 extra, I ordered just the lasagna, my aunt ordered the lasagna and salad. We got the plate, the lasagna was good but the presentation was like a plate with no energy very plain and simple. So we finish dinner and then I asked for my bill, the bill shows a lasagna for $18.71, I was hold on, wait a minute, the menu show $17.00 why she charged me $1.71 extra, so I stop the server and I asked her... "whats the reason the lasagna it's different price on my bill when the menu show $17.00", so she went to get some that speak Spanish to explain me, so another server show up and starts speak in Spanish with me. And I said to him and to her. You don't need to bring a Spanish speaker to explain the reason of $1.71 extra on my bill, it's very simple to explain in English but of course on 2023 still RACIST people living in NC, by the way I consider myself a bilingual person, so I can speak both languages fluent (thanks God). She said sorry I called him because I don't know how explain, I was like u can't explain in English, I was in my mind Girl u very wrong but whatever, they guy said that it's a charge of 4% that the restaurant add it to the ticket if u pay u're ticket with credit card. Firstable the 4% of $17.00 is $0.68. so they try to charged me 10% ($1.71) I think that's illegal but anyways, I let them charged me that amount, but of course no tip for the server and never back to this restaurant. It's sad that everything is expensive and restaurants try to take advantage of our money! Don't go to this restaurant, it's not transparency on their prices, she said that it's on the menu, I didn't see it but if they honest, they should said to the customer, like give a option to the customer and said "we charge this amount for cash payment or this amount for credit card payment" but the restaurant modified the prices because they know a lot of people don't check the tickets, they just paid. So Sad. Please don't go to this restaurant....
Read moreWent to dinner here and was charged more than the menu prices on certain items. When we brought this up to the manager she tried to tell us this was a 4% charge for using a credit card. This was the original bill without them knowing how we were paying and there was nothing in writing alerting the customer of any additional charge. Her reply was that there were 2 signs at the entrance. There were NO signs about a 4% charge posted anywhere warning customers that the price on the menu is not the REAL price. When we were leaving we overheard a delivery driver complaining of the same issue that the prices on whatever delivery site he worked for didn’t match the bill. I’ll spend my money at an honest place next time. They just lost a customer. Buyer beware.
** Update: I see your comment. No, there are no signs. Fix your menus if you are charging people more and tell them there is a 4% discount for paying cash. That would be the honest approach, but then you would need to ask “cash or credit” before issuing the bill. It is not on your menu that you are charging 4%. You could prove it by posting a picture. There are pictures of your menu posted… that statement isn’t there and I wasn’t charged 4% on everything, just an arbitrary adjustment on certain things. If you are paying 4% to your credit card processor you are paying outside of the norm (1.5-3.5%). It is apparent from the reviews that you’ve been doing this for a long time under various different justifications and feel confident in doing so. It is wrong. Plus, $3.60 is NOT 4% of the tab AND I used my debit card and you still charged me 4%. Perhaps the gentleman was arguing with your manager about how much he was charged, either way it was a scene in front of your establishment about your pricing. I earn honest money doing honest work and I will choose to not spend it in a dishonest establishment, so don’t consider me a...
Read moreHave gone to LaPiazza for over 9 years now…always ordering the same items. Hadn’t been in a while since we moved but I drove there today for takeout and ordered the same items that I always got: A medium calzone with sautéed mushrooms and onions instead of ham and onion as my husband doesn’t eat ham calzones, an eggplant parmesan dinner, and fettuccini Alfredo. This time the order was so very different. The calzone had onion only, not sautéed and absolutely no mushrooms. It was the flattest calzone I have ever seen and oh soooooooo greasy! My eggplant parmesan dinner always came with a small side salad, a side of pasta, and 2 rolls. I couldn’t find the pasta, turns out there was a thin layer of pasta under the eggplant. There was no salad and no rolls. I phoned the restaurant with my complaint and received nothing but argument from the staff. They said that I didn’t order mushroom and onion and argued with me about it … but I clearly did. I asked that they substitute the mushrooms in place of the ham as my husband eats vegetarian. They argued back with me. Then they told me that that do not serve salad or rolls with the eggplant parmesan dinner. They always did, it’s why I order the $21 “dinner” not for the 50 cent pasta I can make at home! They never resolved my compalints only argued back. I guess treating the customer fairly is not a priority in this establishment. As for the calzone, I say to the owners … get Dan back ASAP, your calzones have gone from 5 stars down to 1 star. The fact that I know who used to make the calzones there tells you how frequent I went there. I will not go back. I’ve attached photos of the calzone (more like a flat pizza omelet — not a calzone) … take a look at ALL of the grease all over the box!!! It was disgusting. Two people could only eat half altogether, decision...
