Eve's Diner — Restaurant in North Carolina

I have been hearing good things from people in our community about this restaurant so decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical because upon entering...the windows and glass doors were filthy and I am very uncomfortable eating in a restaurant that appears unclean. Although the restaurant is CLEARLY understaffed (just like everywhere else)....our waitress was great. She was trying very hard to keep up with everyone. While waiting on our food....I was astounded at the amount of FLIES that we were fighting off! It got worse once our food was delivered. Wow man...we were kungfu fighting flies in our booth. At 1 point...I counted more than 8 flies, just in our booth. C'mon OWNERS...get it together! But the reason this restaurant scored so high with me was because our food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The QUALTY, TASTE AND PRICE made it unforgettable! If only the owners would clean those gross windows and doors and do something about the fly invasion....I would be one of their biggest supporters. Until then....I can't wait to eat some more of what's on their menu ❤. NEW REVIEW AS OF 10-7-22 My 2nd time here yet 1st time for breakfast and I must say....they EARNED 5 STARS this morning!!! Windows were clean and I am so proud of you 👏🏽! Both waitresses were excellent and our breakfast was absolutely DELICIOUS ❤! Eve's is absolutely a no frills kind of place. There's about as much atmosphere as being on the moon. It's just several tables and booths in the middle of a large room. There's no local art on the walls. There's no shop with down home type of merch. There's no jukebox, dartboard, axe throwing, skimpy uniforms, nor a roaring fire in a fireplace. But who needs atmosphere when the service, food, and prices are this good. The wait staff is always friendly and smiling. The food is really, really good with large portions. The kitchen put the food out quickly. The wait staff is very friendly and always checking on your table. Most dinner entrees are under ten bucks. Three of us ate for right at forty dollars for an appetizer, three entrees and drinks with an extra side (tip not included). I'm a heavy tipper anyway, so I'll just say I was out the door for under fifty. For as much food that showed up in each plate, you can't find a better dinner out. Did mention the wait staff is very friendly, polite, and active? They close at 8pm, so try to be there before that....

I have been eating in there for probably a year. NOT EVEN ONCE have a waitress came back to my table after sitting the food down. You can't get any service it's totally ridiculous, you don't get any drink refills you don't get asked if everything is o.k., do you need anything else, I literally had to eat my breakfast with my coffee spoon because I didn't get any silverware. I've never been in a restaurant that many times with NEVER getting any service. The food is great and the prices are great but the waitresses are killing this business. It's not just me saying this, WHAT IS GOING ON!! The owners have to fix this!! IT'S THE MORNING TIMES THAT WE ARE ALL...
