The staff was both warm & welcoming. We arrived very close to 2pm (when they close from 2-4:30 for dinner service prep. Not sure if this is practiced year round or not) We did not want to be THOSE people who come in 10min before close but, a lovely staff member came out to invite us in when she saw us setting in the car attempting to figure out our "plan B". We were quickly sat and our drink & food orders were taken. While we waited for our lunch I attempted to sneak some photos of the AMAZING view (as to not disturb the other customers) another employee invited us to check out the patio and told us how to aceess it from the parking lot. We ate sandwiches. The Rubin was really good (my sweet husband always orders one and always shares (: ) i had the Turkey panini which was also good! I am not certain but i think it had smoked turkey. For sides we had house made potato salad and sweet potato fries. This gem with a view is approx 20-3min from the Linville caverns....which were also neat!

While unassuming from the outside, it appears to be associated with a neighboring inn. Once you step in there is a wonderful view of the mountains, as if the restaurant itself is an overlook off the parkway. The menu is relatively limited but expected given the location. I got the flat iron steak and my wife got the glazed salmon on special. While I wish I had opted for the rib eye, the steak was cooked right. It was a bit pricy for what it was but the views and being the only place open in the area make the place worth it. The waitress was very welcoming and helpful. We finished with the praline cheesecake and it was amazing. The portion sizes while they seemed smaller than expected, they were nice and allowed room for dessert.

The view, in my opinion, was the Only worthwhile thing at this restaurant. Service was ok. It's small, needs updating,& have longer waits due to small space. The fries were cold and tasted old, my requested "Well done" burger was red and had to be taken back. Not sure why the crowd? Maybe no where else around, or we tried the wrong things? Crab pattie and sweet potato fries were gross! Won't be back, do not reccomend. Ps. Food took a long time to get to us and my burger that was sent back, well.... everyone else was done eating before it returned! Nothing special about the taste either! Sadly disappointed

Food was HORRIBLE. patrons beware! It was a party of 8 arriving around 4:30 on a Tuesday. Ordered chicken Alfredo shrimp Alfredo. Quesadillas. Steak. And chicken fingers.

1- the chicken Alfredo was lukewarm, chicken void of flavor, pasta tasted like two week old frozen pasta. And to finish off. The white Alfredo sauce was watery. Resembling milk and not cream.

2- the quesadilla were soggy, and skinny. Looked like two small pieces of chicken and a little cheese. Not full at all.

3- the steak was very small

Asked the waiter for sour cream for quesadillas and was told they didn’t have any.

Asked the waiter for Caesar salad dressing and was told they didn’t have any. Would of been nice to know before ordering quesadillas.

Understand I am not reimbursed in any way for placing reviews so when I write something, they are my unbiased opinion of a place.

I am extremely mad and upset I ever came to this place. I feel like I’ve been taken for a ride. The perceived value received is severely below expectations.

Charging customers $17 for pasta a slap in the face. One can easily find better food, faster and more plentiful in Waffle House.

So my recommendation to anyone who has read my review to the end. Stay away from this place. They are not deserving of your money or time. This place is a perfect candidate for the show with Chef Gordon Ramsey....

This is the worst restaurant at which I have had the displeasure to eat. The waitstaff was very impolite and impersonal. The food was served at incorrect temperatures or burnt (don’t order a steak medium rare). Moreover, substitutions are not just frowned upon but met with such wanton animosity, I wasn’t sure wether to be apologetic, or dial 911. Additionally, the checks weren’t at all consistent and at this point I am not sure whose dinner I ended up buying! Finally, if all of these things are over-sites based in the infirmity of some character flaw I possess, I apologize; like the snickers commercial, I am not always myself when I am hungry and for that I once more will apologize. However, what I can not contend with was the ACTUAL PIECE OF GLASS IN MY CHICKEN WINGS?!?!?!?! I understand the rigors of working in a kitchen; I worked in a kitchen in college, but I can not even begin to understand a.) how this potentially life threatening situation could possibly occur and b.) how was the owner so negligent that they continued to serve food? I do not think I will ever be visiting this place again. Moreover, for the actual safety of yourself and families, I would be remiss if I did not hasten the reader of this post to...

Simply horrible I'm really not understanding this high rating. There is no reason for it based off our experience. When we got there there were maybe 2 or 3 tables seated. We asked to sit outside which wasn't a problem because there were obviously table available. Our waiter who was very nice came to our table we ordered our drinks, appetizers and meal immediately. The drinks arrived the salads arrived (cucumbers old and dry). The appetizers arrived. Then we sat. For 45 mins. They were not not busy !! 45 mins later and I was grabbing my purse to go pay for our appetizers and leave when my daughter tells me the waiter was coming with our meal. 3 orders of alfredo pasta and one salad. That was our order !!!! I asked the waiter what the problem was and he said all the orders came in at one time. Still cant figure out where all those orders came from ?!?! Even so... 3 pasta and one salad..... I couldn't do it. I told him to take back the food which looked awful I mean really awful and we paid for the appetizers and drove back to Asheville before we finally ate dinner. View is wonderful. But I would not tell a friend to go there for the food.(just read this to my girls and said "that pretty much...
