Papa's Pizza — Restaurant in North Carolina

My husband and I have ordered take out from Papa's Pizza many times. I always order spaghetti with meat sauce. The sauce is good, but they don't give enough. I know it's customary for Italian people to go heavy on the pasta, and lighter on the sauce. But I like enough sauce, not just a small amount. I've paid extra for more sauce, but there doesn't seem to be any extra on my spaghetti. I may take one or two bites of the supposedly,"homemade" garlic bread. Maybe it's just me, I'm very particular about my bread, but I don't care for it at all. But I find that true with most Greek/Italian restaurant's, so it isn't just Papa's Pizza. My husband usually gets Philly Cheese steak sub. He says they're good, but not the best he's had. We'll still order from Papa's Pizza mainly because it's only a couple of miles from our house. In our opinion, Apollo Flame Bistro is the best they have excellent spaghetti with meat sauce and they give me plenty meat sauce without asking and paying for extra. You get better garlic bread and a nice salad with your order, prices are the same as Papa's Pizza, but salad costs extra at P.P. My husband says they have the best Philly Cheese steak and Italian subs in town. I just wish they were closer. All in all I'm glad that we have Papa's Pizza to fall back on. So we will continue to get take out there when we don't feel like going out to our favorite, Apollo...

This was our first visit to Papa’s Pizza, found it online while searching for Stromboli’s in the Asheville areas. We chose this one due to it having mostly good and great reviews.

We ordered tea, mozzarella sticks, a large Stromboli with pepperoni, beef and sausage and a medium Stromboli with pepperoni, ham and extra cheese.

The tea was okay, but I’ve definitely had better tea here in WNC, but it wasn’t bad.

The mozzarella sticks were absolutely delicious! They reminded me of the ones at Monster Mash in Tennessee. They were 5/$9 - and worth it.

The large Stromboli was definitely large! The fillings were plentiful as was the cheese! Hubs has a huge appetite and didn’t finish his. He had to get a to-go box - which for his is beyond rare!

The medium Stromboli was pretty large! I ate one and half pieces and was full! Again, the filling was plentiful and the extra cheese made it super cheesy! I’m not a big cheese fan so it was a bit too much for me but it was delicious! You cheese lovers would have loved it!

The waitress was nice and attentive! The lady who brought our food was super sweet and I’m pretty sure she was Italian.

Like several reviews said, the restaurant staff was amazing but none that I seen wore masks... it’s it rather off setting. For me, with my health problems, it was a bit concerning...

We will be back and do...

Update: Picked up our order and we were expecting a nice slice of cake, given it's $8. Nope, it's small and thin. The cost is crazy for the size. My sister bakes for a living, all homemade. I took a pic and she couldn't believe it. Won't be ordering desserts anymore.

Prevous review: We've been getting deliveries from there and they are always on time. But, the crust on the pizzas have been a bit burnt and very tough. My 3yr old could only eat the cheese and pepperoni off it. Then the next day, we warmed it up and couldn't even cut the crust with a knife. Disappointed.

Always great food! Never have I ever had an issue here with service or their menu. Only with my daughters shoes and their slippery floor lol. Love the Greek spaghetti!!!

Left this review a while ago. We frequent this establishment often. But, yesterday, the pizza wasnt great at all. EXTREMELY thin! If it stays that way, we will have to find another...
