We had the displeasure of coming to Safari Miles on Tuesday evening. Upon walking in the door, we were greeted by a very sweet hostess, I was trying to make out the sign for the daily specials, however it had very obviously been splashed with some kind of liquid. My boyfriend says to me "I think those are probably from yesterday". The girl at the Hostess desk says "No, sir. they are from today, we unfortunately have some very petty girls that work here" ........... (Awkward silence)
We get seated in a far corner of the bar, closest to the smoking patio. Before we are greeted by our server Carrie, we overhear her complaining to the table behind us that she was in trouble for spending too much time talking to her friends at the restaurant and not paying attention to her tables. Based on her attitude at that moment, we should have just turned around and left. No food, no drinks.... But instead we were hopeful thinking MAYBE someone else would be our server. NOPE.
She takes our drink order, and my boyfriend inquires about draft beers, there is a listing for Assclown (which is a Brewery - NOT a type of beer) and asked Carrie what kind of beer it is, she quickly and very sarcastically says "Its assclown" My boyfriend asks again, this time saying Assclown is a brewery and they produce SEVERAL kids of beer, do you know what kind it is? Or can you ask the Bartender. She exhales, rolls her eyes and says "ugh, ill just bring you a sample" and storms off to the bar. She recalls that he asked her to see if the bartender knew, stops halfway to the bar and shouts back at my boyfriend "I doubt she'll know either" and proceeds to shout again to another table in the restaurant sarcastically asking what kind of beer they had since THEY ordered ASSCLOWN. At that point my boyfriend asked for a completely different beer.
I ordered a ceasar salad, which was MASSIVELY overdressed, I'll add photos later, croutons were completely stale, and I waited about 25 minutes for Carrie to return so I could get a fork to start eating it (Where by that time our food came out, from another server, and we still had not gotten the bread she offered when we were seated. She came back to refill my water and spilled water all over the table, took 10 minutes to come back with a napkin which she threw at the table and walked away.
Prime rib was over cooked, potato was half raw. $50 later and we had the worst dining experience in the state of...
Read moreWe have been here several times and we used to have a really good experience but here lately it’s been lacking tremendously.
Food: Used to be great now it’s just okay to the point where we ate half of our food. Service: Used to be on point especially with Giovanni not sure if she’s still there but she’s amazing but the servers we have had the last few times aren’t good at all. We have to get someone else to refill our drinks we even have to ask for silverware when the food comes. Unacceptable. I understand it’s been difficult to find good staff but you set the standards at the hiring process. Atmosphere: It would seem as though they don’t know how to “pre-bus” the tables. Every time (even when we liked coming here) there are always dirty tables and they will be dirty the entire time we are there. This is unacceptable and pure laziness. As a manager you should set the standards when hiring that each server should take the plates from their guests when they are finished eating. No one wants to sit and look at a dirty table for an hour. I was in the industry for a long time and there are rules you should follow as a server. 1. Never let your guests drinks go empty 2. Pre bus the table 3. Have your other colleagues backs if you see their guests need drinks or plates need to be removed then help them out. It makes the overall experience better and keeps the guests coming back.
It would seem as though either the managers don’t care or have low expectations of their staff because even if you are short staffed these rules aren’t hard to follow. Also I would suggest having your host staff help out as well. All I ever see them do is wipe a table off (which they do poorly) and seat guests. It’s just a shame because this used to be a favorite spot for us but we will not be returning unfortunately. Hopefully things...
Read moreNormally dine in and love this restaurant. Unfortunately, on Saturday night we decided to order some take-out since we know the wait for tables on weekend nights can be long. I ordered two meals over the phone, then immediately hit the road because we live 20 minutes away. The food was ready when I got there, so I included a tip that brought my total to just over $60. I got home and when I opened the bag, the baked potato and sweet potato toppings were there, but the potatoes were missing. I immediately called back and let the hostess know. She said I could come back and get them or they could leave a note for a credit for the two potatoes on my next meal. Umm, what?? I'm sorry, but that's the best you can do? I didn't trust that I would ever get my potatoes that I already paid for since we only eat here about once a month. So I got in my car and drove the 20 minutes to the restaurant, got my potatoes, had to stop for gas, then 20 minutes home. Food was now very cold, of course and we were very hungry and frustrated. When I opened the bag of potatoes, they were puny and definitely not worth the effort. If this is not reflective of how management wants customers treated, please train hosts and wait staff what to do when...
