I'm from Columbia and I travel to Charleston frequently sometimes for the beach, sometimes for camping and sometimes just for a day trip to drive around looking at historical sites learning my way around.
Charleston is my second home and I'm always ending up in new places everytime I go... This day I was going back to Soda City. It was Sunday and my favorite restaurant Daves carry out wasn't open. We were running late on time everything was closing so we stopped at the nearest Captain Ds..
I was lost as usual and it was 8 mins till closing. The speaker was off and I thought they were closed. I drove to the window and the lady who answered was AMAZING!
Although, I could feel her frustration at first with them so close to closing. They had already cleaned up everything and she mentioned they don't let food sit and I was amazed by that alone!
Yet, she kept her composure, she was extremely pleasant towards me, she had a beautiful gulluh accent and she was incredibly friendly. She didn't have to do any of that. She could have said they were closed or she could have just ignored the window like they do in Columbia.
Nope. This lady hooked it up for us and made some very happy little campers in the back. Again, this lady was Amazing and made a very frustrating rainy camping beachy weekend end...
Read moreWent through the drive through, ordered 40$ worth of food, sat in line for 20 mins which is fine. The cashier wraps up the card in the receipt and hands it back. We get all the way home which is 20 mins away just to find out she gave us back her work card. We had to drive all the way back to get our card. 40$ worth of food COLD! We asked if we could get any type or compensation for our troubles and the answer was “No were not doing that” so basically wasted 40$ and now have cold food! Then got all the way back home to check all of the food and we don’t have either of our family size sides! So we go all the way back AGAIN for the second time 20 mins away after calling a million times with no answer. We got there and told the manager our problem we just wanted to give all the food back and get a refund and was told they couldn’t give back refunds but he would remake our order. The cashier was super rude and begin to argue with us like it was our fault, very unprofessional! It took over an hour to get our food remade and it still wasn’t right and we didn’t get everything but because we couldn’t get a refund we had to wait around for our 40$ worth of food! So disappointed, wasted our money, food and about 3 hours of time with everything...
Read moreI patronize CaptD’s on Rivers Ave frequently but my experience today(7/23/25) was beyond horrible! It began at the speaker, no one took my order. The truck in front of me got personalized service because the gentleman on the window came out to take his order mind you he saw me behind the truck. The truck pulls up and I get to the speaker, crickets for10 minutes! I pull around and the guy at the window acts shocked to see me. He proceeds to take my order by saying he didn’t hear a beep. After he received payment I told him what condiments I wanted, he came back after 15 minutes and said “I don’t have any tartar sauce, I told him that. I didn’t want any. He then asked what would I use to dip my fish in and I told him. This is 15 minutes in. A lady comes to the window and practically throws my food at me! I told her at this point I was sitting at the window for 25 minutes and she made the comment “I wasn’t up here” I requested a manager again with no response from her. I then told her I asked for a cup of water and the guy appeared and gave me some water. Of course I didn’t drink it! Really! What’s going on at Captain’s D’s on Rivers Ave??? This service is unacceptable for...
