We went to Thailicious on their sixth day of opening at this location. They are going through some of the typical and non-typical opening problems that happen with most restaurants. We were seated right away and got time to peruse the menu. We ordered two appetizers and four dinners.
The Chicken Satay was thin and over cooked, tough to even cut with a knife. The Curry Poppers were nice and crispy on the outside and was mostly potatoes on the inside.
When serving our meals, they didn't serve us all at one time, the dinners came one at a time with anywhere from 2 to 4 minutes between each dinner served. The Red Curry ( the on line menu has Panang but their in house menu did not) dish I order was very good, the vegetables still and a little snap to them and the chicken was perfect. My wife ordered the Pad Thai and she enjoyed, noodles were well done and the sauce was sweet. Both of the Pho meals the other couple received were enjoyed and looked wonderful, I would have love to grabbed a bite, but...
We enjoyed our time there and since my wife and I both are Thai fans, we will go back for sure. It's great having a good Thai restaurant that's close to our home. Some of the problems they had I'm sure will be worked out. I didn't mention that they serve a heat level to match your palette, no heat to Thai Hot. If you haven't tried Thai food, this is a good place to give it a try, they work very hard to make sure that your visit is...
Read moreI had a wonderful time with my family at Thailicious. This spot is definitely worth the nearly perfect score of 5 stars.
Pen, the woman who greeted and took care of us was a WONDERFUL host. She explained everything in great detail to us and gave very helpful recommendations in what to order. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure we were satisfied with our orders and good to go and is honestly one of the most sweetest people you’ll ever meet!! 10/10
Now for the food, simply top-tier. We had Pad Thais, chicken satay, pork dumplings and the Thai doughnuts. Let me tell you, if you’re trying to eat DEFINITELY stop at Thailicious, the food portions are hugee so you’ll definitely be leaving full. While everything we ate was.. Thailicious, honorable mentions has to go to the pork dumplings, and Thai doughnuts.
We demolished our pad Thais. My parents lovedddd the dumplings so much we almost ordered a second one if we weren’t full from the pad thais. The Thai doughnuts is a MUST HAVE. You honestly won’t regret it, my parents and I were stunned at how soft, warm, and flaky the doughnuts were, coupled with the dip they provide. Fantastic!
If you’re flying in to CHS, this restaurant is a mere 6 minutes away for high quality, authentic Thai food. Pen mentioned they’ve been under new management the last 8 months or so, and the quality of the food has certainly shot up with the change. Definitely stop by...
Read moreFor my short and sweet crowd like me: 10 out of 10 food and service. I've had Thai food all over, even in Thailand 🇹🇭 this is some of the best Thai food I've had in the States. ESPECIALLY in SC. I feel blessed to have found this place in our corner of the world.
The lots of words that doesn't do this place justice: Ever been to a place that you didn't wanna share too much about because you don't want it to blow up? That's this place for myself! 😂 But the owners genuinely deserve it. I want to keep the review short but it's hard when a place has the kind of food that makes you keep smiling while eating and just brings up that "wow, this is good" feeling bite after bite. The price is on par with the other Thai food around (if not better than some) the portions are more than generous and the flavors are ALL there and then some. I just want this place to get all the good business they can and more so they'll stick around and keep their quality the same. The owners genuinely deserve all the love and support from the community they can get. The Charleston food scene needs more places like this. Food like this does the soul good and I'm so happy we went here. Please give it a try! (If your spice sensitive be careful, they're pretty authentic with the Thai levels...
