Carnitas El Rey — Restaurant in North Las Vegas

It's not worth the hype. I came here from a tiktok video. Carnitas taste boiled and have no flavor. The only thing that is decent that we had were the flautas and chicharron with guacamole. Even then, don't let the picture fool you. The amount of guacamole they give you is very minimal compared to the picture. Service is sub par. Wait staff and cooking staff seem to not have good communication. You have to ask them various times about things you ordered because they forget and hardly come check on you, you have to flag them down. It's a small place, when we got there it wasn't that busy. I been eating in this place since they opened last year. The food is quite good. Mondays-Wednesday they have special prices. I usually use the drive thru to order the torta ahogada BOGO. So when we order they u we eat I was expecting the same special. I called the restaurant and the waiter told me she was going to honor the special the supervisor on charge the day said no! I called Thursday and spoke with a different manager and he said the prices and sale on line were different from store. Hubby and I were looking for some authentic carnitas tacos while visiting Vegas. Took a Lyft from the Strip to check this place out. We ordered 4 tacos, a Mexican Coke and an agua de Tamarindo. We opted for 2 Carnitas and Buche mixed tacos, 1 Chicarron taco and an Asada taco. The Carnitas and Buche tacos stole the show!! The meat perfectly cooked, super moist and the flavors exploded in our mouths. The chicarron was nice and crispy. Not to mention the salsas and pico de gallo that complimented the tacos.
