Edit: Double check that they're open before you visit. A few times I've come here to get coffee during their regular posted business hours and they're closed. One time they closed about 3 hours early to do employee training, is what they told us. Why not train while they're open for hands on experience for the employees? Or train after hours, as they (are supposed to) close early in the day at 2pm? It doesn't make sense to loose business and inconvenience customers who drive out to this location only to find the doors locked. Last time I came there was a sign on the door saying they would be back open in 30 minutes, it was in the middle of the day. There was staff sitting inside sipping coffee. We waited 20-25 minutes, as we weren't sure how long that sign had been there, and when no one opened up we left. It isn't worth the frustration to come only to turn around, so now I always call ahead before I go. The other location in Punta Gorda is only open one day a week (on Sunday, the day that this one is closed) but I haven't been as it is about 30 minutes away from the town this shop is in. Because of the limited hours there and seemingly frequent sudden/early closures here, I get the impression that this coffee shop is more of a hobby for the owners than a needed source of income. Which is fine, but is inconvenient for buying customers seeking their service when there are regular inconsistencies in open hours. Otherwise if they were reliant on steady income from the shop, their business hours wouldn't be so casually and suddenly changed. Corporate establishments do not do this and shouldn't unless it is an emergency. I love the small, cozy feel of this place & supporting local business, but the privately owned management aspect seemingly has the downside of irregular hours. (at least at some times) Not sure if it's pure coincidence of when I happen to go, but I think that's doubtful/unlikely.
I've seen this place come up quite a few times on my Google maps and have been wanting to give it a try. Well I finally did and they have delicious coffee and such a laid back, nice atmosphere! The con Leche is INCREDIBLE. Menu is a bit expensive but being artisan-type of coffee, it makes sense and is worth it. It's located in a tiny plaza and is a convenient place to stop into when you need to fill your car up. Its conveniently located to me now as well, which is a big plus- can't wait...
Read moreTake my review with a grain of salt because I can be very particular. The people here are very nice and the coffee is great also. My issue is that I don't go to these types of places for atmosphere, I like to get in and get out. I noticed after the first few times going here they can take a little bit, which is fine, it's a coffee place and they aren't just pouring it from a pot. But because I like to get in and out I call ahead which is usually where my issue is. I have to call about 3-4 times because no one answers the phone. This frustrated me a lot 2 weeks ago so I stopped going there in the morning, and then I tried again today to see if maybe I just had a bad experience trying to call in, and it was the same thing. I had to call multiple times before someone answered because they have it set to go to voicemail after about 3-4 rings rather then just keep ringing. When I got through I put in my order, when I arrived they had confused it with another order and didn't start it until I was already there waiting. I also couldn't buy any donuts because someone had called ahead and bought them all. This isn't their fault, they can't tell someone making an order 'no', but just more frustration piled on.
Mistakes happen so I don't rate based on incidences. If you're like me and like a place where you get in and out quickly and regularly then it's a 3 out of 5. If you aren't on your way to work or anything in the morning and are going just to hang out it's probably a 4 or 5 like most people have rated.
UPDATE: Changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. They did make the changes they said they would. I gave them another chance 3 weeks later today. Called the number listed here with Google and someone picked up letting me know they had a new number for that shop and provided it to me. When I called someone picked up right away, I put in my order, and it was ready when I got...
Read moreWe have been coming to Los Dos for a couple of years now because not only do we support small businesses, we support Christian businesses. However it seems to me that getting good employees is not going well. We always order a tall sugar free Carmel breve - hot. My wife is a diabetic so we have to keep an eye on sugar. Today I ordered 2 of these. Got my order and headed home. When I got home I saw that both of these were just brewed coffee. I was so upset. I drove the 6 mile round trip again to get it fixed. They made a simple apology and then began to correct them. This time I checked and they looked like the correct coffees. When I got home we drank our coffees. Within 30 minutes my wife’s sugar began to skyrocket. I was pretty sure that they used sugar free syrup but I’ll bet they used whole milk for a breve instead of half and half. Here is my quarrel. We always tip well, this time 25%. We don’t have the ability to wait to tip unless we use cash. My question is this - whose responsibility is it to check to make sure these are made properly? Does the customer have to check to see that a car is built properly before they buy it? You may think that I am going over the top with my review however it’s been issue after issue and management needs to fix these issues. What if my wife was allergic to nuts and they used hazelnut and she went into shock? Again whose responsibility is it? Please fix these issues. Thank you
Thank you very much for the coffee offer but we will decline at this time. Also, thank you for the refund. We will be...
