I came to Port Charlotte for work and I have never been to this part of Florida and a friend suggested this restaurant. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with open arms, like I was part of the family. I had no clue what I was in the mood for. I was suggested a few items. The stuffed mushrooms as a starter and for an entree, I got the special, which was “Eggplant Rollatini”, and let me tell you something. It reminded me of grandmas Italian cooking from home. Absolutely phenomenal and flavorful. I could not eat it all and I’m excited for lunch tomorrow. Very kind people, one of the owners, Jolene, I believe her name is, was so friendly and was so personable. One of her staff members, I think her name was Cheryl. She was so very nice and fun to have as a server. The other server, Carlos was very generous and helped everyone. The cooks, the cooks, the cooks! My food was so good I needed the cooks to hear how amazing their food is. I had the pleasure of meeting Danny and Ricardo. These two in that kitchen, create art for your taste buds. I cannot wait to come back to Port Charlotte! This is my new spot!

*Update - I ordered the Bruchetta, which is one of my favorites at other places, I couldn't eat it. There were tiny cubes of frozen mozzarella, and the seasoning made the dish inedible. I could not discern what the flavor was, maybe the balsamic. This is a cute little bistro with good food. We ordered the Boom Boom Shrimp for the appetizer, a popular dish here in Florida. It wasn't the best version of it that I've had, but it was pretty good. For my meal, I ordered the eggplant parmesan sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was balanced with the right amount of sauce and cheese, and the fries were crispy and crunchy, which was not easy with sweet potatoes. My friend had the Reuben, and she said it was one the best she's had. The server, Rachel, was personable and attentive. The atmosphere is cute and quaint and a perfect little lunch spot.

A true hidden gem, very inviting Bistro, very comfortable atmosphere staffed by wonderful people. The cuisine is outstanding with that home cooked deliciousness. We sampled the Lobster Bisque and Creamy Mushroom soup, both flavorful and an excellent introduction to the rest of the menu. We had the Veal Madeira and the Baby Back Rib special. The Veal was cooked perfectly, freshly pounded, not too thin and coated and seasoned to perfection, tender and full of flavor, served on top of al dente pasta. The ribs were tender, juicy and had a large choice of sauces. We decided on the honey garlic which was similar to a Carolina mustard sauce, very nice blend, not too sweet and just the right amount of garlic. We thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Nice selection of beer and wine. This gem is off the main road, find it, you will love it!

Maggiore Bistro is a true gem! I had the lobster bisque and the chicken parmigiana, and both were phenomenal. The sauce was rich and full of flavor, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside yet tender and moist inside. My wife had the Chicken Madeira, and it was spot on. The chicken was cooked beautifully with flavors that worked together perfectly.

We also had the pleasure of meeting one of the new owners, Jolene (yes, like the song!). You can instantly tell she is passionate, truly loves what she does, and cares deeply about the whole dining experience. That passion shines through in both the food and the atmosphere.

And rumor has it that Jackie is the “Funny one”… though Jolene may have quietly stolen that title when we met her. We will definitely be going back, and hopefully next time we will get to meet Jackie too. ;)

Wishing them both the best of luck and continued success with this amazing...

First timers, seated and given a few moments to look over menus. Our server the lovely Isabella took our drink orders as we looked over our menus and made our selection. Now I had already looked at their website so I knew what I wanted, husband chose his favorite shrimp Alfredo. First we had an order of the bistro chips, wow! Delicious. My sangria red was wonderful also. Dinners were delicious, well prepared. Now for my one observation, there was a table of 4 (entitled) people seated in front of us. They sat there for over 1 hour that we were there, how much more I don't know, but they had already had their take away in front of them. They ordered nothing while sitting there taking up a table talking. My opinion is they should have been asked to leave. I did mention it to a server upon leaving. The gall of some people. Rude, rude Will definitely return, especially for the...
