Cocina Latina — Restaurant in North Richland Hills

This place continues to be one of my all time favorites, the authentic flavors and the oh-so good prices keep me coming back. They have a good variety of different dishes to choose from I haven't gotten tired of this place I have my favorites, but I can't round it down to a few things so many of their dishes fall under my favorites! The parrillada is chicken, shrimp, sausage and beef sauteed with bell peppers and onions comes with rice and beans. This place really needs a deep cleaning. While it’s somewhat picked up, it still feels dirty. The walls need to be scrubbed thoroughly, and the restroom doors are especially grimy. The floors could also use a good scrubbing.

The restaurant has an unpleasant smell—like beans mixed with filth. I grew up in a Mexican household where beans were always being cooked, but my mother always kept the house clean. I can tell the smell here is coming from a lack of cleanliness.

The food is actually good, but if they gave this place a proper deep cleaning, I believe they would attract a lot more customers.

I think they should consider hiring a couple of experienced Mexican ladies to give this place an extremely deep clean. It just seems like the owner’s standards for hygiene are a bit low.

That said, the owner is very kind, and I’m sorry for having to leave this review—but I believe it’s important to share honest feedback.

Este lugar realmente necesita una limpieza profunda. Aunque está más o menos recogido, todavía se siente sucio. Las paredes necesitan una buena tallada, y las puertas del baño están especialmente sucias. Los pisos también necesitan ser bien fregados.

El restaurante tiene un olor desagradable, como frijoles con suciedad. Yo crecí en un hogar mexicano donde siempre se cocinaban frijoles, pero mi mamá siempre mantenía la casa limpia. Por eso sé que el olor aquí viene por la falta de limpieza.

La comida es buena, pero si le dieran una limpieza profunda de verdad, creo que atraerían a muchos más clientes.

Creo que deberían considerar contratar a un par de señoras mexicanas con experiencia para darle a este lugar una limpieza profunda. Parece que los estándares de higiene del dueño son un poco bajos.

The perfect hole in the wall experience! It's located right next to the gas station. Upon first appearance it looks like it's all one place, but it's two different places. I ordered the chicken enchiladas (3) w/ rice & beans. The restaurant was exceptionally clean and the female server was extremely friendly. It was a little warm but not uncomfortable which is to be expected in the summer heat. The kitchen is just as large as the sitting area with plenty of room to serve large groups. The restaurant will seat appx 30 people. No alcohol is served here. I will definitely be coming back to try out the Redfish...
