Butch's Saloon — Restaurant in North Royalton

What a strange dining experience. I had seen pictures of their BBQ so we went in expecting ribs and other BBQ options but that wasn’t available. No worries we will just go with one of their burgers. My wife orders the cheeseburger which the menu states comes with anerican, lettuce, onion, pickle and house sauce. She gets asked if she wants cheese, wife confirms that yes she wants the cheese specified on the menu. The bartender asks if anything else and based on the menu options we anticipate a good burger. I order the saloon burger the menu says it comes with Swiss grilled mushrooms and onions. I get asked if I want cheese on it and confirm yes the Swiss would be great…she asks if I want anything else on it, now I’m assuming I don’t have to ask for the items called out on the menu but I ask for some lettuce anyhow.

The cook comes to confirm that I want mushrooms and onions since I didn’t ask for them. They are specifically called out on the menu.

Big surprise when my wife’s burger arrives with just cheese and none of the items that are supposed to be on it.

If you’re going to call out specific features of a burger…maybe include them.

We pay our tab and get up to leave only to be stopped because the bartender undercharged my by 3 dollars and has to cancel the previous transaction and re-ring it all. Mistakes happen for sure but the attitude from the bartender as well as the owner who played silent observer for the mixup was just uncomfortable

All in all, don’t trust their website if you want bbq, don't trust their menu if you want something specific and don’t trust...

I'm not sure Butch wants to own a bar. I've never in my life seen such restrictive hours. Especially with his kitchen. One day its open, one day its not. One day it opens at this time, the next it opens much much later. 2 Pm to 8 PM?? Those are your bar hours?? Really?? I came here with my wife to try some of that BBQ, but to no avail because they aren't busy, and closed down. They have signs and social media posts that say one thing, but if business isn't booming "TRUST ME" the sign is a lie because they close early or whatever. It just seems like a very wishy washy deal they got goin compared to others in the business. Its not necessarily for the customer.. it really seems like its for...

My family was all about finding good ribs this summer. Went to many festivals, including rib-fests, and butch's hands down were the best we had all year. My 97 yo grandfather wanted good ribs for his bday yesterday. Butch hooked us up with 9 racks for me to bring home for his party. Everyone loved them. The 97 yo WW2 marine was more than happy....
