If I could put zero stars I would. It saddens me to write this review.. because I have always enjoy this place and the space and the staff. I will exclude the staff but the manager work worked on 3/9/25 the unprofessionalism was appalling. I do not write many reviews because I myself am a fellow manager in this industry and I know how hard this job can be.. a pick up order was placed over the phone with a name and phone number. My mother in law went to pick up the order because I have a newborn child at home. My mother in law doesn’t speak good English but that shouldn’t matter anymore … so we received the wrong order, I’m not sure what went wrong but when we got home I called and went to return the order because A. Didn’t want someone else’s food and B. I wanted my food. When I brought back my order, I was told by management that I would have to pay for my order which was a little confusing because I had just paid for food that wasn’t mine so I would of maybe called it a wash because I paid more than what my order was but usually you refund a customer and charge them for the correct food.. but instead of doing either one of those options, the manager decided it was a good idea that I pay for both orders and I couldn’t get my food unless I paid for mine and the order we were giving by mistake. We didn’t understand why that was happening and got upset. The manager then proceeded to blame my mother-in-law and say it’s not our fault she can’t speak English.. this to be is appalling. Even if I wanted to say that to my customers, you just don’t. This is discrimination at its finest and I am truly appalled by the actions of one person. But one person can hurt a business and that is exactly what this manager did. Success is word of mouth In a very small state and being in the industry i cannot ever speak highly of this place for allowing someone like that to work there. I called a few times to speak with ownership and every time someone answered the phone they almost seemed as though this was a joke.. unacceptable.
— to reply to the comment below: take out works by giving the order to the customer when they say the name that was giving when the order was taken… not by reading the order. Do better. This reply also show the unprofessionalism of the (owner) I...
Read moreMy husband and I took 2 of our kids here for a Saturday afternoon lunch after reading great reviews. We walked in and were pleasantly surprised to see it was a clean modern tavern with local charm. We only waited 5 minutes to be seated, which was great. The kids each ordered off the children’s menu which had the usual kids fare and my husband and I each ordered prime rib based on the waitress’s suggestion that it was the daily special and very popular. We each ordered it medium rare. The prime rib came out dark grey, no pink on the exterior and no pink juices in the plate. We each cut into it thinking maybe the center was pink and it just sat under the heat lamp making the exterior overcooked, but that wasn’t the case. It was cooked well done all the way through. Neither of us took a bite and called the waitress over to explain and she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. After a few minutes an older lady came to our table, presumably a manager, to tell us that she looked at the meat and it looked fine so she gave us the choice of having the prime rib they cooked us or we could order something different. We both said we didn’t really want anything different but just wanted a prime rib that was cooked medium rare like we ordered. She told us “that’s a lot of meat to recut” was annoyed and said I’ll talk with the cook and walked away. After a few more minutes she came back to our table to tell us “they’re making the meat rare for you this time and just so you know, when it comes out, you own it!” My jaw almost hit the table! It’s not like we sent the meat back after eating part of it and it’s not like we were trying to get something for free. We just wanted what we ordered. I told her I’ve never heard of a manager coming over and not just apologizing for it being cooked wrong and letting us know that it was being redone correctly but instead having to listen to her tell us the meat was pink which was clearly a lie and telling us however it comes out next we own it. She told me she was being as nice as possible. Wow!!! The prime rib came out medium after that, which was OK but I’m not sure we’ll ever be back after being talked to like that when it was their problem the meat was...
