We were staying at the hotel for a night so we didn't go too far for food so this was perfect to grab a bite. LOTS of stairs if you're staying at the hotel and going to the restaurant. I used to have knee issues and this would have killed me a few years ago so just keep in mind if you have any mobility issues.
I got the boom boom shrimp plate with fries, corn bites and it came with hush puppies. This sounded like a deep-fried delicious nightmare but it was VERY GOOD! Im from up north so boom boom is a little different everywhere I've learn but this was a great version as well!
We got it to go, nothing got soggy. Fries were great! Corn bites were shockingly good. This was more than enough for me and my teen to eat and be stuffed!
A meal and two drinks was about $26/27 - sounds high but it's worth it!
Also to add... we both have sensitive stomachs and neither of us had any upset stomach issue so that was a positve! 👍
The staff was BEYOND friendly. Again being from up north this was a shock to meet such friendly people in NC... from the hotel to the restaurant everyone was so nice and pleasant!
Seating was small - like old school pizzeria table and chairs - maybe a seats a dozen+ but it was very clean! Its attached to the pier entrance so if to you stop by be sure to check out the pier - esp later in the day the views are amazing!
My ONLY "complaint" is the use of Styrofoam cups - especially near a beach! (However the beaches and water were super clean...compared to nj waters lol)
We will be back later in the year and will definitely coke back...
Read moreWe decided to stop for breakfast on our way home from N. Topsail Beach. 1st I would like to say if you are looking for frills, this is not the place for you. Food is served on Dixie paper plates and plastic silverware. If you are looking for good food and exceptional service, step right in. My wife and I truly enjoyed breakfast. We walked in and the restaurant was exceptionally clean. We were greeted nicely and told that you order at the counter. They then bring your food to you when it's ready. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. They constantly came by and asked how everything was. Now for the food. We each ordered the 2 egg plate. The eggs were scrambled well just as we asked. The hashbrowns had a good mix of soft and crispy potato shreds. The bacon was cooked just right. And finally the biscuits were wonderful. Buttermilk biscuits with a slight buttery crunch outside and soft and fluffy inside. There was 1 other couple in the restaurant. The told one of the employees it was tradition for them to stop there for breakfast on their last day of vacation before going home. After the food and exceptional service, we can understand why. We will...
Read moreWe decided to try this restaurant tonight while vacationing for the first time at topsail. It was not what I was expecting at all and should have turned around and found somewhere else to eat. For me, my husband and 3 children our bill was $75. It makes me sick knowing we paid that much for the quality of food we received. My burger I ordered was still pink on the inside. My husband and son’s fried seafood tasted like it was cooked in old oil. My youngest son said his corndog also tasted horrible. The fries were the only thing good here. They also had 5-6 items that they were out of. The bathrooms looked like something out of a fun house with the toilets not sitting against the wall. There were shower curtains instead of stall doors. I’m just hoping no one gets sick. We will not be returning. They are also charging $2/person to walk out on the pier which in my opinion, if you are a customer of their restaurant and just spent $75, the pier should...
