During my recent visit to El Paso's I was excited to finally sit and dine-in. Unfortunately, the entire staff on duty this particular visit was VERY unprofessional , and my food was at it's lowest a 3 out of 10. My appetizer was served at the same time as everything else my table had ordered & my main course order was completely cold. I sent my torta dinner back to the kitchen & it was brung back to the table to question " why i sent it back to the kitchen " causing a even more delay in me receiving my meal. The drink selection being all cheap tequila also very concerning because the drinks made me & my two guest sick , we did not finish anything we ordered. The normal day-time service I would receive for pick-up however is nothing like the service I experienced during my dine in. The kitchen staff & our server seemed very unconcerned & even at one point , all laughed at , in my opinion, the distress my party had begun to display from the awful service I couldn't believe we were experiencing , leading to me revealing that I was a professional food critic with available credentials to leave with the server for management - whom giggled and said no thank you .
I appreciate the restaurant's effort to create a unique atmosphere, but the food and service fell short. BADLY. To improve, I suggest adding additional training to their staff on professionalism and courtesy. Timely communication and understanding how they can interact with the public whom aren't hispanic or...
Read moreI had been wanting to try this Mexican restaurant for a number of years as there are few Mexican restaurants that I would consider authentic in the area. I normally judge a restaurant by how clean the windows are and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere seemed fine and restaurant is well kept and clean.
My carne asada was delicious and the tacos were good. Margaritas had a good amount of tequila.
The problem came when paying the check. You are not presented a check but pay at the register. My husband was presented with a ‘total’ check. He goes ahead and pays the amount and adds a 20% gratuity. He returns and I ask him for the total amount. I calculate all that we ordered and it was just not adding up. I go up to the register to tell them it was not adding up. Lo and behold, s 10% gratuity had been added. I don’t believe this is noted on the menu and he was not advised either. This seems so tricky. I wonder how many other people have not noticed. We are normally generous when tipping but don’t appreciate...
Read moreFood was solid. Service was soooooo slow. Took about 10 minutes to get someone to take our drink orders, and that was flagging her down. We were one of two tables in the place. We ordered finally, but when they brought it out, they had forgotten some stuff so it had to be added again. And when the check came I asked why it was so high, and the guy told me it was tax. My friend paid his bill, and I paid my part for 3 other friends. Only afterwards did they give us a receipt that showed that they had already included their tip. Because they didn't disclose that, we both ended up giving more for tip. I could have called my credit card company to have it refunded but we figured that we'd never come back again despite having friends close by. Poor service and hiding fees from clients is not a good business...
