Panaderia Santa Maria Bakery #2 — Restaurant in North Township

Went there a week or two ago for a cake. I’ve visited their first location many times and not once had a bad impression. The location is nice, a few flies here and there but that’s pretty typical going into a bakery like that. I spoke to the owner who I’ve seen previously at other location. She took my order, we looked at pictures, picked out the toy from the image that we both agreed on. Spoke date and time for pickup. I got back the date and time of pickup, the person had no idea what I was talking about and said they didn’t have a cake order for that day. I showed my receipt and they told me to wait. I saw a guy from the back come out for a cake that was plain on the outside and then 20 minutes later the cake came out. It was completely wrong. Not the same design or color or anything honestly. The lady said “since the owner took your order, that’s why it’s wrong, she does that” WHAT??? I was shocked. First of all I would never speak like that of an employer to customers but also basically they were not going to do anything. I started to become frustrated and they got the baker to come out. He said sorry and handed me the toy and display that was supposed to go with the cake I ordered. Just terrible. Cake flavor was good but honestly it did not taste like a fresh cake at all. I also tried ordering something from the cafe and they said they couldn’t make anything with coffee with a horrible attitude. Their breads aren’t that great, not real fresh, & they have a lot, but not a good variety & selection, it’s like all the same bland ones. . They make cakes but they couldn’t make the kind I wanted, & believe me, it wasn’t real difficult either, pretty simple. . Well to start off the place was very clean. The staff that work there are very friendly. The bread and donuts was fresh and I highly recommend it. The only reason I give this place 4 stars is because they have a coffee bar and if you want to purchase a drink you have to go to a separate register.
