Disappointed in an UNDERSTATEMENT! If I could leave zero stars, i absolutely would. I spent close to $100 on food from here for my son’s 10th birthday celebration. I ordered the food online, which ended up being a HORRIBLE mistake. Apparently on this particular website, you have to select each individual item you want on your hoagie, despite the item description. I ordered a Tim’s Special (it only comes in 1 size and is $26) which is described on the site as having numerous ingredients; I thought I was getting what was described and I was only making slight modifications; I was COMPLETELY WRONG and only ended up with meat and cheese that was beyond skimpy btw smh. Also, I ordered a meatball hoagie (this typically involves meatballs w/marinara sauce) at least any meatball hoagie I’ve EVER had does… well, not at Anchor on their site you have to click that you want sauce on your sandwich. This was probably the MOST frustrating part about the entire order, because under the modifications there are a laundry list of toppings including “sauce” BUT it doesn’t say what kind of sauce. It could be BBQ sauce, steak sauce, Worcestershire sauce, marinara sauce, it really could be anything! Not to mention, this option is available for ALL of their hoagies. The site needs to be more specific on just what type of sauce customers are ordering, but again, I didn’t think I needed to select a sauce for a meatball hoagie smh. After ordering $100 worth of food, I was obviously very upset, and the only solution the manager, Isaac Hoskins had was for me to come back (I called at 8:43 and they close at 9) to get the sauce and toppings added to my sandwiches!!! Smh I live in the Pittsburgh area and getting to North Versailles in 13 minutes was NOT an option, and I had a house full of guests for the birthday party. Not only is the order platform HORRIBLE, so is the customer service smh. I’m extremely DISAPPOINTED ***UPDATE…. The owner of the establishment reached out to me this morning and offered replacement sandwiches. He truly cares about customer service which should be top priority in any business! I can’t give 5 stars, because I do think the online ordering system needs revamped, but the food is great and the owner cares about good customer service!

05/24/24, this was my first time here and I ordered inside Togo. I’m glad I got there as early as I did because while I was waiting it started to get busy. I suggest pre-ordering for a more seamless pickup but, I still didn’t wait long. I ordered a 12” meatball hoagie and let me tell you…it was one of the best I’ve ever had. The meatballs were huge and flavorful. I’ve had hoagies with bigger meatballs that were flavorless but, not here! The marinara was spot on too! Not too much on the hoagie that it was dripping all over and actually it was a thicker marinara which held up well with each bite. The provolone was melted into the sauce and enhanced the flavor. The bread was fresh and I had a 20 minute ride home and there was no sogginess. The staff was considerate and greeted me as soon as I walked in. I only gave the shop 4*’s as I only ate one thing. I will without a doubt be going back and I will then adjust. I highly recommend Anchor Hoagies! 06/06/24 Updated, so today I went back and wanted to get something not regularly on a hoagie shop menu. I opted for the gyro hoagie and let me tell you, I wasn’t disappointed. In my opinion there was only one thing that could have been a little better. That was the tzatziki sauce. It wasn’t bad but, it wasn’t as tasty as I’m use to eating. Otherwise the hoagie was top notch. The meat was flavorful and there was a lot on the hoagie. The lettuce, tomatoes and onions were all fresh. I again had a 20+ minute ride home and no sogginess to the bun, which also was fresh. I was a little skeptical because the hoagie was placed in a plastic container but, it worked. They have a points rewards program that you can build up and use for future purchases. I had some questions about it and the woman working there answered my questions helpfully and with a smile. They also are a veteran run business and give a 10% discount to first responders and military (with a valid ID)! All in all I upgraded this shop to 5*’s based on getting two styles of hoagies that aren’t the easiest and I was totally satisfied. My next trip I will be getting a cold cut hoagie and I can’t wait!!

First time ever ordering from this business, I get there and my order was smaller than expected but I didn’t mind since I had heard good things about this place from friends. I get my order and there’s no dressing on it like I ordered so I went back in and got the “oil and vinegar” which was just cheap oil minus the vinegar. The worst part was the chicken, it was quite literally just breading with a taste of chicken to the side. When I bought a sub with grilled chicken, I expected legitimate grilled chicken pieces and not bread for geese. Probably the worst sub I’ve ever bitten into, absolutely horrendous and will not be going back. I ended up throwing the sub away and going to subway where I could get some grilled chicken that at least looked real. I paid $14 for this. I could’ve gotten a foot long at subway and still have money leftover for the gas used to get there. Insane.

Heard so much about this place couldn’t wait to try it. Very Disappointing. I ordered a Hot Hoagie. The Juicy Meatball. I got to hand it to them, the meatballs were large and juicy, however, they were also very bland and tasteless like there was no seasonings used to make them. Kind of hoping the Marinara would be enough to give some kind of flavor boost. Nothing there either. In fact it was no different than putting unseasoned meatballs in nothing but tomato puree also without any type of seasoning in it. In addition I expected it to have it at least rested in an oven to heat and crisp the Hoagie Bun. Nothing there either. But allot of places don’t put theirs in the oven either. There’s a saying where I came from when it comes for Hoagies, if the bun don’t crack you send it back. No points lost for not having the bun toasted though as many places don’t do that either. Over all a very disappointing Hoagie. I can name a half dozen places where the hoagies are much much better. Also ordered a Grilled Hoagie. The Cheesesteak Hoagie. Of course as one would expect the steak was the star. It was somewhat bland too, but wasn’t terrible. It was not so good after that. One would expect that a Cheesesteak Hoagie would have cheese somewhere in it. This one didn’t. As if they forgot to put cheese on it. There was no visible sight or flavor of cheese to be found. I ordered it with the sautéed onions, peppers, and mushrooms and there were scant traces of them found but for the most part one could barely tell they were there. Again as in the other hoagie it would have been nice to have it oven toasted, would have made it so much better, but because many places do the same there are no stars lost because it wasn’t toasted. Not sure if I’ll return. Got to hand it to them though, the hoagies were big so if your hungry you may consider them. But if you’re looking for something favorable you may want to think somewhere else. At least a half dozen...
