Visited for lunch yesterday with family as I am new to the area and heard good things. The setting is beautiful- the area was busy with activity, lots of unattended kids running around, but 50% of the tables were available. We had a few minutes to wait to be seated. We then waited about 10 minutes for a server to get our beverage order (soda and tea), and while we ordered appetizers, they appeared 25 minutes later with our entrees. I had the portobello grilled cheese with sweet potato fries- the sandwich was tasty, but the fries were overcooked to the point of being inedible. My sister ordered a bbq chicken sandwich but she received a burger, so she waited another fifteen minutes for her correct order to show up, without the bbq sauce. Thankfully she had the appetizer (shrimp cocktail) to munch on while she waited, and she said it was good. I also ordered a couple maki rolls to carry home that were $12 and $13 dollars each, respectively- they were worth $7 at best- something that could be purchased from the sushi case at a supermarket. Back to the unattended kids- a server carrying hot food to another table almost fell due to said kids running around underfoot. I've got no issue with kids in restaurants, but a brick paved patio, a lake pier, a busy restaurant and half naked toddlers running amok doesn't mix. For the pricing and environment I expected better food quality, a better experience and a quieter ambiance than the kids play area at a fast food joint. Our visit lasted an hour and a half for lunch, 60% of the time was waiting, which to me is not acceptable for a...

My wife & I decided to try this place out tonight while we were in town. For a Thursday night, it does get pretty loud. We could barely hear each other, so we kinda sat there in silence.

She had the Chipotle salmon, which was extremely good, I had the ribeye. It was cooked good, but way more fat than meat, which was a disappointment, I love ribeyes but definitely didn't receive a good 1. For the price you pay, you would think the butcher would pick better quality steaks out.

For the waitress, she was terrible. From the time we sat down, when we got there, we were the only other 2 there. Dinner didn't pick up til we got our appetizers & she only had 4 couples to serve. She cared more about hanging out in the bar where her friends or younger ppl were then serving her customers. We were there for almost 2 hours. Kinda felt bad leaving a couple of dollar tip Usually, I would have tipped at least 20 to 30 on an 85 dollar receipt, but it was really bad service. She brought us the receipt & told us to take our time & we said hold on a sec & she ran off. We tried to hollow for her a few times, and the couple next to us also tried to get her attention. I had enough cash on me that I wanted to keep in case we came across a sale or something & they only took cash.

That service right there made us not wanna come back. The food was delicious. I wish the ribeye had more meat on it, but it...

My fiancé and I were very excited about eating here. We’ve been away for our jobs and met here for Valentine’s Day; it was one disappointment after another. First, when I go into a restaurant expecting to spend over $100 on dinner, bread is customary. There was no bread. Our drinks took 15 minutes to arrive. Our appetizers came before drinks and did not come with plates. We literally had to put our shrimp tails on the table. After our drinks arrived, finally, I asked if our salads would come in an appropriate amount of time before our entrees and I was assured they would. Don’t you know, minutes later a different server brought our meal before our salads. Of course they were apologetic and took the dinners back, assuring us they would be made fresh so we could enjoy our salads. Salads were served and my fiancé’s second drink soon after- this one also took 15 minutes to arrive. Our meals were delivered after very obviously having been stored under a heat lamp and NOT made fresh as promised. We were offered a free dessert as compensation for what is likely the worst service we have ever received and I got the red velvet cheesecake. Despite the fancy descriptions on the menu, this was a frozen, prepackaged product with redi-whip sprayed liberally on it. Thanks for ruining our...

We’ve been on this lake for years, and let’s just say we’ve tried just about every dock-and-dine spot around—but The Pier (and The Back Porch) at Oakwood keep pulling us back in. Literally. Half the fun is pulling up by boat, tying off, and walking straight into a laid-back, lake-loving atmosphere with surprisingly great food. Great views, casual setting, friendly staff and good vibe. Whether you’re grabbing lunch in flip-flops after a morning cruise or meeting friends for drinks at sunset, it hits just right. The view from the back porch? Great. The vibe? Chill. And the food? Better than you’d expect from a place this easygoing. Solid burgers, great apps, fresh salads, sushi and cocktails that don’t skimp. Locals know this is a go-to for summer evenings, and they do a great job balancing the crowd—families, groups of friends, couples on date night—it works for everyone. Service is friendly, and the staff is used to the lake crowd (read: unbothered by kids in swimsuits and towels).

Definitely would recommend dining here. Made reservation for my sister & brother-in-laws anniversary. We had drinks at the tiki bar outside first then went inside for dinner. Outside ambiance was great…ordered margaritas & had a great time listening to the music & relaxing enjoying the beautiful view of the water. Bartender was Kira & she was super fun. Asked for table with a view when I made reservation but when we got there was told large party had area with best view…it was ok we still had a great dining experience. Appetizer was Bavarian pretzel…it was phenomenal…it was a meal all by itself…definitely worth it! Dinners were halibut…salmon burger…chicken sandwich & BBQ Burger…all were delicious! Ordered waffle fries with the sandwiches & they were the best we have ever had. Had martinis & they were very good. Dessert was a molten lava cake & it was amazing! We all had a great time & will definitely be dining here again.
