My daughter and I decided to try somewhere new besides the 2 Mexican places that we go to in barbardon. So we decided to try Casa Del Mar. Our experience started when 2 girls saw us walk in and say in disbelief oh my gosh really like we were bothering them because we walked in at 9 o'clock on a Friday night. We check the time this place is not closed until 10 PM we had a good hour to eat.. We sat down ordered our food and drinks right away and got our food and started eating..our waitress checked on us every 3 minutes. Overkill. You could definitely tell that they were ready for us to go and it was only 940. Not even that late. They brought us boxes and our check before our plates were even empty. And our bill before we even had started on our meals. They obviously wanted to go home early and unfortunately we were the only ones left at 9:45. When we walked in there were 5 other tables not like we were the only ones there. As We went outside they locked the doors behind us and I exclaimed very loudly that they didn't close until 11 because that's what the great waitress told us. The manager whom I assume was the young man that opened the door and asked me if I had an issue. I did exclaim to him that I was very upset with the rudeness because they do not close until 11 that's what we were told and then he corrected me and said they closed that 10. I said that was fine but they were still very rude and we felt very rushed to eat our food. Being asked if we needed anything else every 3 minutes was way too often. He told us that they just wanted to go home and I said that was fine but we were the last customers there and we should be treated like the 1st customers there not rushed to get out so you could leave just a little bit early. He acted like I was offending him and closed the door in my face and told me to have a very good night. I will never ever go back to this restaurant. And there were 8 people working as employees there so it had nothing to do with being...
Read moreSaying I have been here 100 times might be an exaggeration. Saying 80 times visited definitely is not. The fact I have been here so many times when my food was wonderful is why it still gets a good rating tonight, when it was the worst food we've ever had here. I was truly completely disappointed.
You know it is a problem when a four year old is complaining about how chewy the chips are, but hey, free is free. My burrito was almost all bean and rice inside with very little meat. The meat was wayyyyy over salted. The shrimp on my plate were the only good thing out of all our food. And really, the shrimp were PERFECT other than being cold. My entire meal was cold.
My son always cleans his plate (normally two tacos or two tamales) and asks for more. Tonight, he didn't even finish one. We got him one beef and two chicken. He ate most of the beef and wouldn't eat the chicken. My son told me he wanted more food but didn't want these. I asked him if he liked them and he said no.
That's when I tried his taco. It was just chewing water. It was water wrapped with lettuce (water) with some cheese and was so soggy with a soaked tortilla around it. We left to come home and cook supper. Kielbasa and potatoes for the win tonight.
Again, normally our food is a five and I give a four tonight for history instead of a one. I really was surprised they didn't ask us how it was or if we were happy. When I went to pay the bill, I didn't say anything but the hostess asked how our food was. I responded, "Ughh, not good." She told me my total and reached out her hand for the dinero. We will be back. If we ever experience this again,...
Read moreWhat a great restaurant! My family and I came here Sunday, during the busy afternoon. It was our first time eating inside, as we just moved to the area. What a treat! Our waiter was awesome. He was so nice and kind and very happy, even though they were so busy, we often seen him carrying trays of 10 drinks outside at a time! Our food was great! For an appetizer we had the Jalapeno Toreados and they were great! Nice and spicy, just how we like it! I always get Enchiladas, but usually it's the shredded beef or chicken or cheese, but I got the Enchiladas Javier and it was with Beef tips and they were big chunks of beef that were tender and they put Chile Con Queso inside the enchiladas with a side of pinto beans and it was so different and yummy! My husband got Chile Con Carne and enjoyed his also. We took our 1 and 3 year old kids inside with us and even though they made a huge mess the waiter was very kind and understanding. He even brought me out my sunglasses when I forgot them inside. Great Service, delicious food, we are so excited we live so close to enjoy this wonderful restaurant all the time!! I wish I got the waiters name, he really...
