The Downtown — Restaurant in Norton

Pizzas are great here- & they will work with you. Small place- limited seating & menu. Yrs . ago they had a different layout & owner with down home cooking & pizzas & a bar. They still have pizzas & a bar - but the whole place has changed & the menu is different including the help. ( Honestly- the pizza I ordered was great- but I miss the old menu & layout as well). I ordered a Lg. BBQ Bourbon Steak Tip & Honey BBQ Boneless Chicken Pizza w/ Mushrooms & Caramelized Onions & Extra Cheese- about $ 17-18.00 not including the drinks- my friend & I had 2 beers each. Not bad. They had a band we went there particularly to see, & would eat while we were there. I hadn't been in there yrs. & had the wrong night for that band- but the band playing was still good. I wasn't impressed with the new menu myself, I can't remember it really- I think they just had pizzas & boneless & reg. chicken wings & maybe something else like a burger- but I would go back for another pizza like that one- custom made & delicious; but you be the judge. I have been to the Downtown numerous time over the past 50 year under different ownerships. I want to support local businesses. Unfortunately, the last time I ordered take out from the Downtown I was surprisingly disappointed. I ordered two fish and chips to go. I found the containers to be light, but didn't check inside until I got home. To my astonishment there was a small piece of fish and no chips in both orders. I returned the items and was offered a new order which I declined due to my disguss. I received a refund. This should nerver happen. Somebody just wasn't paying attention to what they were doing. Great local pub atmosphere and a nice big outdoor patio for dinner and drinks on nice days and evenings. Staff is really friendly and they often have entertainment and live music! Pizza is well known in the area for being some of the best and it has me coming back time and time again!
