Cons: The place is run down looking, inside and out. The carpet was so sticky the heels of my sandles stuck to the floor with each step. It was a Friday night the Prime Rib was available on Friday & Sat., so I ordered the king cut, cooked medium. It came to the table with alot of strong smelling parsley sprinkled on top. It was cooked Med. Well, was tough chewing and tasted mostly like parsley. My husband ordered the yellow perch. He ate it, but said it was way over cooked. We are not complainers, but with these items being expensive, we felt the need to say something to the waitress. Positives: The waitress was friendly. The French Onion soup was delicious. The waitress offered to get me something else to eat but I declined since my husband was through eating and the restaurant was getting busy and I didn't want to wait. She then offered to adjust our bill. We told her just to take the prime rib off since I had only eaten 2 bites of it (it was that bad), that we weren't looking to take advantage and even though it was over cooked, my husband did eat all his yellow perch. We are from WI, so we won't be going back to this restaurant. This was our experience, hope...
Read moreUPDATE: One year after this first review and sadly, my husband and I are done with this restaurant. We waited 45 minutes for our entrees with half the tables empty at 7pm on a Friday evening. What was put down in front of us were the worst "filets" either of us have ordered anywhere. These $32 each "filets" were not filets. They were ragged pieces trimmed off that no one else wanted. I didn't even ask for a takeout container for our Aussie. Barely salted with no other seasoning and they did not taste good. The baked potato was cold and the mushrooms were sauteed in double the amount of red wine necessary. I don't know what's going on over there but we have eaten our last meal at Riverside.
This was our favorite place for the last 3 years up until the last 2 visits. The service is always excellent. The servers run their tails off. The last two steaks I've ordered were pounded down to 1/4-1/2 inch and the taste was not good. The sauteed mushrooms which have always been the draw are not good anymore either. The music was...
Read moreThis is my third review after about 8 or 9 visits. A clear pattern has emerged. Go early in the evening on Friday, do not go past 7:00 p.m. We had to wait for over an hour for our food. Our server was very nice could have given us more updates. At the hour mark, we were told they were out of baked potatoes, so my husband had to choose something else. When our food arrived, the ribeye that he ordered medium well was medium rare. I ordered the Thai stir fry with shrimp, and that rice had to have been instant. It was awful .. mushy and watery. My first bite of vegetable was extremely bitter and that set the tone for the rest of the meal. I did not finish it. There was some weird sauce they served with my husband's sweet potato fries that just didn't taste right. He was so hungry he just ate his steak without looking at it. The server did not charge us for our drinks which was a nice gesture for the long wait. We have learned our lesson, which is to be at the beginning of the dinner crowd,...
