Loose Leaf Boba Company — Restaurant in Norwood

Loose Leaf Boba Company is located inside Pokémoto. The menu is located on the wall in the back. The overall setup makes it hard to find, but maybe there will be better advertisements and directions once they are more settled.

I highly suggest reading the "About" pages on their website. I love their mission of using fresh, real ingredients. For that alone, I would come back to try more drinks, even though I am rating 4/5 for my initial visit. The drinks are made in the back because Pokémoto takes up almost all of the open counter space, but I could taste the quality difference, so I take their word.

Pandan Pina Collision ($5.75): I didn't adjust the sweetness level because they didn't ask, and I forgot to when ordering, but the default sweetness was perfectly not too sweet. It was a refreshing drink, but the coconut milk overpowered the pandan, so I could only taste coconut. I also wish I had received more pineapple puree. Pictures from their other locations show the pineapple puree taking up at least 1/3 of the cup, but that wasn't the case here, so there are some inconsistencies across locations. Purple Roots with Boba ($7.40): This drink was also perfectly not too sweet. I liked it more than the Pandan Pina Collision. The taro and ube tasted fresh but a bit diluted; using less ice when blending would be better. I wasn't a fan of the boba; too mushy and bland. Their boba is supposedly soaked in a brown sugar molasses marinade, but I couldn't taste it at all.

Service was friendly but understandably slow, as they just opened.

Really top notch boba! Love that the teas are brewed fresh and extremely customizable. It’s a new location and the staff are still learning, so a little patience goes a long way ;) I’ve already been twice in the last week—can’t wait to try everything...
