The wait to get seated was about 30 minutes, which was expected because it was busy. We sat outside which offered a wonderful view of the ocean while we ate. Unfortunately, the table was quite sticky but we were good sports about it and didn't complain. The young man serving our drinks was obviously new as he was still unfamiliar with which drinks the restaurant offered and was also unfamiliar with the restaurants procedures. The food took a while to come out, which is expected as everything is made fresh. What I was not to thrilled about was that one of our group got their food and was eating nearly 15 minutes before the rest, and during that time a server stopped by the table and asked how everything was, it almost seemed like she was going to drop off a check before we even received our food. Now on to the good stuff. Their special that morning was the Kalua Pig Loco Moco. My God it was delicious. The Kalua Pig was cooked perfectly and is definitely one of the best I've had. While I was disappointed that they did not have their lilikoi pancakes, the bananas foster and strawberry waffles were to die for. The food was amazing and I am definitely going to...
Read moreThe restaurant is right across the beach, making the outside seatings gratifying. The cafe seems to attract locals with their breakfast meals and pancakes. Make sure to check out the speciality meals that’s written next to the cashier, cause that’s where the “Ube Pancakes” were hidden.
The “Ube Pancakes” is a meal to go back. The pancake itself seems flat and little to no fluffiness. Yet the sauce makes up for the flatness. The cream improves the pancakes, making it an appetizing dish.
Asked the server “What’s are you guys famous for” and “What do many people order”. The server recommended the “Countryside Steak”. The dish was good but nothing special. The steak was deep fried well with a golden brown crisp, but the meat itself was bland. Also ordered over easy eggs, but was given scrambled.
Overall the restaurant receives 7.2 out of 10. Have to try out other dishes on the menu, because it could be better than the “Countryside Steak”. The “Ube Pancakes” is delicious enough to bring...
Read moreTodays visit will be my last. I’ve come here numerous times prior and the food was delicious. We’ve ordered breakfast items and lunch items. My fave was the fisherman’s sandwich off their lighter menu, but the items off that menu have lessened a lot and they no longer have the fisherman’s sandwich.
Today our two dishes took well over 40 minutes after ordering and 60 min upon sitting. There was only two open tables when we arrived and by the time we got our food there was only one other party left inside and one party left outside. Although the server was nice, she came back after 10 to 15 minutes to asked if she took our order.
The ono burger which was decent came with undercooked fries. The ahi poke salad was sashimi with green onions on a bed of greens. The poke wasn’t even made into poke.
I’m sad that with one of my fave menu items gone and this recent service, we will no longer return. Bring your...
