Dan's Ma'ili Shave Ice — Restaurant in Oʻahu

A must stop in Wianaie if you liked shaved ice. Cheap, massive, and fresh! The owners ( I assume) are a very nice couple.

I'm kind of weird so one of my favorite things to do in Hawaii is try as many shaved ices as possible. I was all over Oahu this trip and tried as many as I could and this place by far was the best, and that's compared to those in the North shore as well.

As a matter of fact, we only went to one shave ice location twice: Dan's Maili Shave Ice

And to top it off the owner is a Seahawks fan!

If we ever stay on Oahu again this will be a guaranteed stop.

Go all in for ice cream and snow top (condensed milk)! Family run business with other snacks and microwaveable food. But really just get some insane flavours and ride the brain freeze and sugar high. We met Dan, he was cool.

As previously mentioned the large is gigantic. I would have been fine with a small but managed the medium.

Also, my friend has a Snickers milkshake which she gave a big thumbs up.

There’s a hike up to a pillbox (you can see the hill from the store), so it would be a great place to cool off after...

As we drove up people were coming out with their shave ice. There were two women behind the counter, one took our order while the other steadily served up frozen tasty goodness. While we were waiting for our frozen treat I looked around, I was surprised at how clean this place was for all the foot traffic it got and especially with the syrupy shave ice. Clean environment, great service and shave ice every bit as good as Matsumoto....
