VERY LENGTHY BUT WANT YOU TO HAVE THE EXACT EXPERIENCE TODAY: My wife and I have been a customer now for 9 years since November of 2008 purchasing our wedding cake. Needless to say the cake and service were both great then and we continued to buy birthday cakes and anniversary cakes every year thereafter. Visa accounts showing an avg spent here over 9 years was $343.00 per year for all our cakes including sports teams I coached totaling $3,087.00 up to this point. Service and cakes were good all the way up to 2015. Noticed the same great ladies that worked there and were so helpful had all moved on and the phone service was well below average now. Talked to the owner in 2016 on some of this service and he kept stating it's policy this policy that and I just reminded him I was the one being talked down to on the phone but he seemed to not care but he loves to give his "rebuttals" just because he can. Again, the cake has been good for years so we kept ordering. We ordered our 9 year anniversary cake on October 23, 2017 for $39.37 for pick up date of October 31st per the man on the phone at 3pm or later but "we close" at 6pm. I get a call from Lisa on October 31st at 2:45 pm saying "we will be closing today for trick or treating and you will need to pick your cake up by 3:30pm because we are closing at that time." I mentioned okay now I have to leave work and the gentleman never told me this and she said this is just what they are doing because it's Halloween with no apologies for inconvenience. Pick up the cake per her request. Cut a piece for wife and I to share after a great dinner and we both noticed that is was not their best cake. Specifically, it was dry and I looked at my wife and said what are your thoughts? She said it is not that fresh and seems pretty dry. Needless to say we were disappointed . I called and explained to Lisa who was very apologetic and said bring in for a review of cake. She brought back to baker and the owner and comes out with a couple of slices asking me to taste test. I thanked them and said I just finished lunch before I walked in. She kept touching both cakes saying one was ours and another from today saying they both had same freshness based on her finger hitting them. I said that is great but to our tastes that was not the case and asked if they will make another. She said no they could not because the freshness is the same per the baker. I said I will just go with a refund of the $39.37. Lisa said they can't give a refund because they stand by their cakes which seemed exact opposite of what I was experiencing. Then the owner comes out immediately starts saying to touch the cakes and he stands by all his cakes and maybe it is not the marble cake I wanted. I mentioned I've ordered marble and traditional and that was not the issue. I gave my experience and he said they can't give me my money back but we are the best at customer service and if it was not dry. He said he would give back double the $39.37 if the cake was not the freshest in his opinion. I was in shock of the history purchasing from them that they kept trying to make this a court room, touch the cake test to sell me on it being the same as the other. I mentioned our 9 year history and he never said thank you but just kept defending how great they are and how great their customer service is. I said you made your decision so there is nothing I can do and I left the building with him just smiling saying thank you. My thoughts are you make another cake but in fairness their comeback would be we think it may be the same. So next step you thank someone for all their history as a customer (not to mention the 5 folks I have referred there to buy cakes-FYI-they have already received a call to stop making future purchases and they are loyal family members) and you refund the $39.37 for someone's cake let alone their anniversary day that they are in having this lengthy discussion about. That would have been acceptable one of those options. Will never order a cake from this place or...
Read moreThe owner just yelled at me and walked out because I expressed that I was dissapointed in the cake I received. It was an all edible images cake that I could have made myself. I didn't want a cake with a bunch of stickers on it and I expected better. I'm so dissapointed because my family and I have enjoyed their desserts for years. I never expected to be treated so poorly by them for simply expressing that the cake they made did not meet my expectations. Terrible customer service, poor communication, and just a bad attitude all around.
Response to owner: Please tell me which part of my review is a lie and which mean and hateful words I said? I was shocked that you yelled at me and stomped off simply because I said it looks like a cake I could make. It does! And I can! If calling me names makes you feel better about your behavior, I truly feel pity for you.
You offered a partial refund. I appreciate that. I turned it down, as you said. I just wanted to express my dissapointment and agreed that there was a communication issue when I placed the order. You started yelling and went beserk for no reason whatsoever. I didn't get a single sorry from either one of you. Instead I was told that the cake was fabulous wich was very invalidating. The lady who took my order was overly defensive and must have shared that energy with you, because I've never had anything but positive experiences with you or your employees in the past....
Read moreI am visiting a friend from out of town and we stopped by to see what sort of sweet treats we wanted to have at home. This beautiful shop is full of an abundance of tempting treats for those looking for special desserts/snacks/treats for any occasion. We ended up grabbing some cake pops, pineapple upside-down cake, gooey butter cake, and chocolate-covered Oreos. The gooey-butter cake was absolutely amazing—gooey, sweet, rich and decadent! If you love this cake, grab a piece for yourself. I have had one of the cake-pops (milk-chocolate covered banana cake), and it was absolutely delicious! The chocolate had a nice crack to it and the banana cake was moist and had a nice, strong natural banana flavor. The pineapple upside down cake (sold in individual large squares) was moist, covered with a nice crunch of crystallized sugar with a cherry on top, and was just amazing. Also highly recommend! Haven’t tried the other items, but will report back when I do. There are also crunchy dog treats for your fur baby available for sale, which we are saving for our next visit with friends who have a dog. This place is full of gorgeous wedding cakes, as well as cupcakes, the latter of which we will need to review after we return at a later date to try them. There is a reason this shop won the 4th season of The Next Great Baker…you need to visit and see for yourself. Highly recommend this...
