Hours posted are until 430. We ( group of 4) showed up just before 4 and the employee (female long black hair) was trying to leave, was already in her car and started to pull off when she realized she left door standing open. Walked in right infront of us and slammed the door in our face. She then proceeded to slowly take our orders, slamming items behind the counter, constantly in a bad mood, and it showing on her face. I asked for a 24oz, was given a 20oz and charged for a 24oz. Employee also filled my iced coffee from bottom to brim with ice, adding ice because the mixture she made didn't fill the cup. I realize there should be some ice, but from bottom to literal top? Come on that's just laziness. And to top it off, there wasn't even much of a coffee flavor in the drink, though not a surprise given the amount of ice. I will never come to this establishment again, nor will I recommend it. You can get better service at McDonald's and a drink that somewhat resembles...
Read moreWe have noticed that Oak Island is a bit of a coffee âislandâ for those of us with a strong addiction that kicks in around 3 PM, so after sampling some of the available fare we were excited to find Jumpinâ Javaâs location at the Oak Island pier. During our scouting mission we noted their closing time of 2 PM and planned our trip from South Oak Island accordingly. When we arrived at 1:46, the barista appeared to be hustling out the door to hit the beach. The place was cleaned, the machines were off, and he was visibly annoyed by our arrival. Admittedly, we had a large order, but any businessperson should be happy for money in the bank. While the coffee we got was delicious, we are giving Jumpinâ Java two stars for service. If you want to close at 1:45 then lock the doors and close. Otherwise, donât be so visibly annoyed when folks show up near closing. For the coffee addicts out there, beware. Oak Island is in serious need of an afternoon...
Read moreI want to say 100% perfect, but one day a different person was working and it was not very good, however after telling the person who has been there for every other visit, she gave me one on the house and apologized for the bad experience! If you are tired of Starbucks or Port City Java, this is a great alternative! I have found that this person working knows how to make a good cup of espresso and she makes it hot, which is the way coffee should be, not cold before you can get to the car! Great atmosphere, conversation and generally a very cool vibe! I love stopping in from time to time when I need that extra boost in the afternoon! I could easily see myself performing there doing an entire concert. My music fits the coffee house vibe, just mellow, not in your face kind of music, slow and easy like a Sunday morning. How about my instrumental album, âWhen Words Arenât Enough.â My favorite would be,...
