Gallo Loco is pretty standard for a Mexican restaurant in the southern US, so you should probably know what to expect. That being said, this particular Mexican restaurant is absolutely amazing.
In particular, I want to note the fast service. There are a lot of fast food establishments that are slower than Gallo Loco! On too of that, the prices are excellent. You can eat enough delicious food to fill up a big eater for about ten dollars or so before tips and drinks. A couple could eat here for $20 after the tip if they weren't pigging out.
The food itself is exceptional. The tastes are bold and you always have plenty. There is plenty of variety, at least along the theme, and all your favorite American-Mexican dishes are represented.
I must confess a certain bias toward Gallo Loco, but that in and of itself should be a fairly strong endorsement. My wife and I eat there as often as our diets will allow it and maybe that is the strongest endorsement of them all: when two dedicated dieters decide to reward themselves with a little indulgence, this is the place...
Read moreFast, cheap, good Mexican food. It's the only Mexican restaurant we go to in town. It has a great menu selection and the veggie quesadilla is my favorite. Happy hour sun-thurs from 2 to 8, I can get 99 cent draft beer and 1.99 margaritas, can't beat that. Quick service and it doesn't take long to get your food but you have all you can eat chip and salsa while you wait. The portions are big too! There is an outdoor smoking patio in back that you can sit and eat and/or drink at. The people that work there have been there a long time and are awesome. They've even let me stay and have one more drink while they were cleaning up one night when I got off work late and wanted to eat there. I only got a bad order once and they made it right. It is a family restaurant and usually plenty of families with kids in there so we usually choose to sit out back where it is quiet or get take out cause it is usually pretty loud in the restaurant. That's really the only problem I have with it but it's easily fixed with to go order or...
Read moreThis is the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. First of all we were here on a Thursday and you would think the service would had been better but we were not acknowledged until a good 15 minutes after being seated. I ordered steak and shrimp fajitas and my husband ordered chicken and steak fajitas. The food came out pretty fast which surprised me however, it was the most bland food I’ve ever tasted. When I asked for extra guacamole and sour cream they brought out regular guacamole and sour cream portions, but proceeded to tell me it was extra it was the same amount that my husband had so I kindly asked them to take it off of the ticket which they did. I will never eat at this restaurant again. I’m shocked they have a high rating. I could swear they just throw the unused chips back in a large bin and give them back out since none of our chips seemed fresh or in...
