Since Kaiser Hospital closes at 5, I was forced to find something to nearby for pick up. I ordered Ba Mee Moo Dang Poo and Thai Tea. The Ba Mee Moo Dang Poo is Egg noodle topped with garlic, green onions, roasted pork and crab meat served with soup on the side. I gave this a try because it is listed under their Street Food section. The roast pork didn't have much flavor compared to Chinese style and even my own cooking. It was tender but not sweet. There were about 7 slices of pork, bits of crab maybe 2 tablespoons, and a few small pieces of green Asian vegetables. It was a good size bowl of egg noodles.
The Thai Ice tea was flavorful as it should be. The total was $20.
They have a small dining area in the back and an outdoor section. I would probably try other menu items if I were to try again. There are several restaurants along Piedmont to try.
There is only metered street parking and...
Read moreNice little Thai spot in Piedmont, with great food. Haven't actually eaten in, but always take To go. When I'm driving through Berkeley, that's when I make my call, and it's usually ready within 15 minutes.
I always get the basil beef (literally nothing else) because it's so good. I ask them to make it Thai spicy, which throws the workers off a bit 😂 for my order specifically, I'm subbing beef, because it doesn't come that way. I also exclude the fried egg that comes along. The way I order it comes with a side of rice, but I always order extra basil beef (excluding rice) as like a side order. Essentially getting a double basil beef, and 1 order of rice. These proportions are perfect for me, and the juice that comes along, is perfect for topping your rice with.
Definitely need to try more things, but never have the chance to dine in. It's always packed when I go, so that's...
Read moreI was disappointed that this restaurant replaced my favorite Indian go to spot. Thai Taste has extremely limited hot menu entree choices that were on the healthier side. I was looking forward to having a mixed vegetable dish with my choice meat and the traditional soup Tom Yum. The only choice of soup was a chicken noodle soup. I wanted to order the red curry salmon but they wanted to charge a $1 to substitute the rice with vegetables. So we ordered the papaya salad which was ok. It wasn't overly sweet. My friend ordered the pineapple fried rice which he enjoyed. I ordered the Moo Ping which was pork on skewers. They were slightly sweet, if you like that kind of marinate. A few pieces of the pork were undercooked. Unfortunately I will not be returning to...
