The Landing Café — Restaurant in Oakland

Two stars for the view only. Food is overpriced for its quality, staff is cold and unfriendly. At the start of the food ordering line, they had a big sign to encourage people to order online, so I did. The earliest pick up time is 30m wait, and they obviously have all food made ready at the counters (packaged salads, plated burger and fries). So I thought they just need to pick up items according to the order, which should be fast. I went to the pickup counter and asked why the online order has 30m wait and given that I was already there right here can it be faster. The staff looked amused as if I said something funny and was like "no, 30m is your wait time" Anyways I ordered in person which took me 10m to get food by talking to another very unfriendly staff. Horrible experience, bad food, crazy waiting time and people fighting in the kitchen. I would say this is the worse restaurant I ever have been, most of the employees were on training and messed with the orders on-line and on the counter. At some point the waiting time was so long that people lumped together in the counter screaming and arguing with the employees to get their food. Employees on the counter and inside the kitchen started to fight between them and security arrived. A disturbing scene considered we were there with our kids. After all, we got two burned awful thin burgers, salty fries and an a not-to-appealing tuna salad sandwich. Not a good deal considering every sandwich with fries is $14. Lesson learned, bring your own...

Miserable experience. The staff rushed my family even though we were one of only two customers present. We had a 4 year old and a baby with us and the staff decided to spray chemicals to clean tables all around us. My wife VERY politely asked if they could give us five minutes before they started cleaning the nearby tables. The woman just laughed at my wife and continued. My wife (miraculously) stayed calm and asked her gently again and mentioned that we had two small children eating there. The woman started making fun of my wife to her coworkers who all started laughing. If I didn't have my children with me, she would definitely be searching for a new job today. The zoo was great but our day was completely ruined by the staff...
