Oakley Polar King — Restaurant in Oakley

Okay heads up, the food here is cooked after you order it, so if you are in a hurry this place may not be for you. That said I ordered a bacon cheese burger that was cooked to order. The patty and bacon were almost burny hot, which if you've read any of my stuff you know that I love that. The cheese was warm and melty and the lettuce, tomato and pickle were fresh and cool. The french fries are fried fresh as well and were piping hot. I can't remember the name of the drink I got, it was something like a Fresh Lime I think. This burger/shake stop is definitely one you should visit. My main complaint is how over priced everything is. I remember a visit where we ordered three “regular” sized shakes, and a single soft serve. The order was almost THIRTY dollars for just those. The “regular” sized shake is the smallest that’s not a kids size. Though, the food is very good here, and I often find myself craving it. Stopped by Polar King during a hunting trip with my daughter, and was very happy we did! The food and service were excellent! If you like hot, fresh-made food and real fries, this is the place! It’s not fast food, but it is good food! It’s an old time diner style vibe on the inside, except that you get a buzzer and pick up your food at the counter. I got the bacon double cheeseburger with fries and a cookie dough shake. My daughter got chicken strips and fries.
