I am throwing tomatoes. I went here today for a work happy hour. It was a group of about eight of us and we celebrating someone’s promotion. We came during happy hour and the waiter never came to take the order. Two of us arrived around 3:50 and the rest of the group around 5pm… By the time the waiter came back it was after happy hour was over and he wouldn’t honor the happy hour drink specials. Which was fine. However, he never came back to the table after that. Two people from our table went on the bar to order and pay for drinks that we ordered from the waiter. At that point I asked for the manager because that’s just ridiculous. The restaurant wasn’t crowded. The manager came over and basically told me too bad so sad. He said that the waiter was assigned outside and we were the only table inside. I said that didn’t excuse the poor service and if that’s how you operate this business please let me know. He said “sorry.” I said sorry doesn’t really do anything for us, it’s a table of 8 people and the waiter didn’t even come back to see if the food came out correctly. The manager literally did not care and was looking at me as if I had 8 heads. After going back and forth with him he eventually said that he would honor the happy hour drink prices (which he did not lol). The service was so terrible I won’t return here and I don’t recommend anyone else to come here. The waiter didn’t even come back for the check. I had to ask for the manager to give the check. I told the manger the waiter didn’t come back from the check, again he’s looking at me like I had 8 heads. Honestly we should’ve just left. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. Poor customer service and the business is ran terribly. When I told him our waiter never came back he said “I guess you want all this food for free.” Pardon????? No one said anything about free food. Customer service was literally pathetic and I regret bringing my co workers here. 0 stars if I could. We just paid the...
Read moreIt was our first time at your restaurant. I drive by every day on my way home from work & I’ve been dying to dine here. It’s always so busy when I drive by so my first thought is this place has to be good. Tomorrow is my husband & I’s 8 year anniversary & we hardly get to go out to eat without our kids which makes this situation so much worse. We sat down to eat and ordered drinks & my husband orders a coke and I a water and margarita. Our drinks took a long time. When we finally got our drinks the server had given my husband a Diet Coke instead of a coke. Okay, no big deal. We wait even longer to have our order taken and food finally comes out & I’m immediately happy because the food was excellent! I was full quickly so I only ate about half of my burrito and didn’t touch my salad or beans at all. I planned on taking it home. We patiently waited for our check. Our server never came back to check on us which is a huge No no when it comes to waiting tables. At this point I’m still giving the benefit of the doubt, being a previous server myself. I understand things get busy. We waited for what seemed to be an eternity to get a box and the check. At this point my husband and I are getting irritated. My husband finally caved and went inside to seek a check and a box. They told him the server would be right out with it. The server stopped at our table to take the credit card and took my plate when I wasn’t paying attention. I had almost an entire untouched meal that I had planned on taking home and he just assumed I was finished with it. 25 more minutes passed before he ever came back with the check and at this point we were up out of our seats ready to head back inside to complain. Had this situation never happened, I’d be raving about about how great my food was and leaving a 5 star review. Service is everything. The food could be amazing, but lack of service will supersede the food quality. Sad to say, we may...
Read moreI was visiting my parents in South Jersey from California and had a craving for Mexican food. Being from California, I have a high bar for Mexican food and my parents suggested Jalapenos. We ordered takeout for chicken enchiladas, cheese enchiladas and a seafood chimichanga. In general, the food was decent but I'm handing out three stars for this one for a few reasons: 1. Pretty pricey for basic Mexican cuisine, 2. The enchiladas were dry (not enough sauce), 3. Cardinal sin for a Mexican joint: No tortilla chips and salsa. Entrees range from $13-$19. As a benchmark, one of our favorite high-end California Mexican restaurants ranges from $15-$20 and this food does not even compare. The whole point of an enchilada is the saucy goodness. So, where's the sauce!!!? The enchiladas we ordered were dry and get this...if you want more sauce, they charge you for it. Seriously!!!? So, make a dry enchilada by skimping on the sauce and then profit from it by charging for more sauce!? Bush league. Note to owner: You will not go bankrupt by adding a couple more tablespoons of sauce to the enchiladas. Finally, if you dine in, the restaurant will give you chips and salsa. If you take-out, they will not. Why??? It's not like you are paying any less for take-out. Some advice to the owner: Stop nickeling and diming your customers especially when your prices are already sufficient. Add extra enchilada sauce, give chips and salsa and you will endear yourself to customers and create loyalty for them to keep coming back for more. Skimping on basic things that are not going to cost you a whole lot will turn people...
