Not only did it take close to ten minutes to get someone to take our drink orders, once they were given, it took almost twenty more just to have the drinks delivered. We ordered a Coke, Dr Pepper, lemonade, and an ice tea. You'd think that would be simple enough to warrant a timely response.
Once we were finally granted the privilege of receiving the drinks we had ordered, it took around thirty minutes just to get our food. That wasn't even all our food. A bowl of soup, that we didn't even order, was delivered almost half and hour before any of the food we actually requested.
You would think that a meal no one actually decided upon would at least be cooked correctly. It was not. When the spoon went into the bowl, it bounced back on the congealed top. I know what you are thinking, no, we didn't wait very long to eat it.
Once our waitress finally graced us with the presence of the food we wanted, courtesy of another waiter, one of the plates was covered in unnecessary implements. A basket, not unlike the kind used for frying fish, held French Fries while about 15% of the plate, more like tray, was empty space. Small paper bags held our utensils for eating. When a new fork was requested, it had to be taken from yet another bag as none were readily available.
The salad two members of my party got was filled with croutons. There was substantially less salad than croutons and the few pieces that were included were lukewarm at best.
America is changing. It's becoming a world of computers. That said, the entire experience did not need to be done on a glorified iPad. The games, for a price, of course, were nice but the necessity to pay the bill online was a bit much.
All I can say to Chili's favour is that the drinks given while we were leaving our poor experience came in...
Read moreIt would be 5 stars if not for the experience on Tuesday. We have been loyal to Chili's for a long time and love the food and service. We received an email for free dessert with our order as the main dining is closed and it is carryout only, due to the Virus. No problem with carryout, we appreciate Chili's accommodating us by opening for carryout. My wife ordered 2 meals via cell and asked about the free dessert. She was told the dessert must be ordered and paid for when we pick up our main order. The instructions on the net said specifically to pay over the phone, pull up and park by the To Go window and wait for a person to deliver to the car. I pulled up near the To Go door. Waited 7 minutes. No one appeared. Another car pulled up, driver got out and went through the To Go door. I then got out and did the same only to find that the other person had not even ordered and was being waited on while he searched the menu. I could see our order on the shelf behind the very nice lady. Including my wait and the other persons order process I got my meal 15 minutes after arrival. I asked if I could get the dessert and was told it would be a while since the manager had to come and approve it and the manager was busy at the moment. Frustrated, I took my meal and left-big mistake I should have checked it. Opened up at home, my wife's meal was ok but cold, except for just 5-6 fries with the burger. My sliders were burnt to a crisp, like hockey pucks, and I had maybe 7 fries in my box. After this experience Chili's is no longer a favorite of ours. There are too many other good places to eat...
Read moreGiving at least 2 stars because the hostess that seated us was a welcome greeting. The staff was pleasant and the food came fast. The wine was a nice serving size as well. We went at 2:30ish, so by no means a busy time. Many many available places to seat people. What didn’t sit right with us was, 3 larger groups with crying children, birthday celebrations, etc were seated RIGHT next to and behind us! The place was almost freaking empty and REALLY???? There was literally a toddler standing in her seat behind us standing between our shoulders facing us. I use to waitress so I understand that servers have “sections” but dang we had common sense provisions for that, especially in slower times. Also, we were a bit taken back when we were maybe half way through our meal (not even half way) and our waitress asked us if we needed a “to go box”. What???? Another thing that we found really shady is how we were offered chips and salsa as soon as we sat down. We said sure because literally the last 2 restaurants we went to gives you some complimentary chips and salsa. Well folks, we were charged for it. We didn’t “order it” or request it, it was offered! What a sly move however, you lost our business. Not cool! We didn’t say anything, we just paid our bill and are leaving the review that was earned. The meals were ok. Absolutely nothing that I am wanting to order again and most definitely did not stand out. I will say that we were impressed with the amount of shrimp we were given. It was a plentiful amount and that was nice. Way too high priced tho for...
