This was my official last visit to Terry's place. If you look at my 1.3 million reviews of restaurants you will see I give everyone the benefit of the doubt. Especially in busy times. I totally get it. I completely understand how a restaurant is run. My server was overwhelmed. She had an idea of her job but not all of it. So many things to list, the most important one is check on your table. That's where your money is made!!! Take care of the table, regardless of how slow the kitchen and bar are performing, go to the table, tell your guests something, lie do something! Don't avoid your guests, that's your source of income! One week ago we had the same experience. I'm not sure what has changed but this has been my favourite place to eat for years. It's gone all wrong, from serving raw bread, literally raw! To not even bringing out my wife's drink. Ice tea, she isn't waiting on the kitchen or bar to make it for her. Our silverware was enough for a party of 3 and there were four of us. I ordered 2 draft beers for the table we finished them and we tracked down the hostess to find out server to get more beer. Only to have her tell me they are out of draft beers. Um really it's Saturday night ya can't be out of beer. Being a beer drinker, I'm guessing they need to change a c02 tank they didn't actually run out of beer. 20 minutes later she returns to the table. Yes 20 minutes, not even kidding. Please keep in mind I hate giving reviews like this. I'm not trying to bash a place I truly love, but facts need to be stated so it can be corrected. After an hour sitting with my family still hungry and thirsty, my server magically appears to tell me the beer truck showed up with fresh new cold beer. In my head I laughed, at least she did show back up to make me laugh. I think my guess was correct they ran out of c02 and finally someone changed the tank. One hour 17 minutes from the time I was we were brought out our meal. One plate was warm, the other three dinners were cold telling me they set in the window for quite some time. Was it the kitchen or the server? I don't know. At this point it doesn't even matter I'm ready to leave so I can find a beer in my own fridge. After several boxes and bags we took a couple dinners home to reheat so we could finally eat dinner. I'm not sure what happened to this place. I hope they can pull it back together because I know the place has been amazing for years. Yes I did tip my server, although she didn't really do much for an hour and a half for us. I think the issue is much deeper than the server, I hope for their sake they...

Another Hidden Gem for Food, Drinks, and Local Vibes!
If you're seeking an exceptional local spot in Ocala, FL, look no further than Terry’s Place at 4121 NE 36th Ave. This delightful joint is a true haven for anyone craving delicious eats, a laid-back atmosphere, and a chance to connect with the vibrant local community.
Upon entering Terry's Place, I was immediately struck by the welcoming ambiance. The friendly staff went above and beyond to make us feel right at home, and it's evident that they genuinely care about their patrons. As a motorcycle enthusiast, I was thrilled to discover that Terry's Place is a favorite among the biker community, making it the perfect spot to share stories and enjoy some camaraderie.
Now, let's talk about the food - oh, the food! It’s just bar food, right? Well, yes and no. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering options, but the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, adding a touch of the Garlic Parm wing sauce was heaven and the Jalapeño Burger with onion rings were absolute standouts. The photos shared with this review don't do justice to the flavor explosion that awaits your taste buds. The use of fresh rolls, meaning they’re from a local bakery rather than commercial, for the sandwiches was a great touch, enhancing every bite. The chicken and hamburger were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, while the onion rings were crispy and flavorful. You can tell the burger was hand-smashed and well seasoned.
I can't help but give a heartfelt shoutout to the lovely ladies at the retail stores in Warhorse Harley Davidson for suggesting Terry’s Place. Their recommendation was nothing short of brilliant, as Terry’s Place exceeded all expectations. They warned us about the huge portions but as you can see by the photos we ignored the warnings and didn’t share 😂.
In conclusion, Terry’s Place is more than just a bar & grill - it's a destination where you can savor delectable dishes, unwind with a drink, and forge connections with the local crowd. Whether you're a biker seeking a welcoming hangout or simply a food lover in search of quality, Terry’s Place is a must-visit. Treat yourself - you won't be disappointed!
Cheers to Terry’s Place for creating a true haven of hospitality and deliciousness. I can't wait to return for another fantastic meal and to bask in the warm camaraderie that this charming joint has to offer. You made my “Florida Favorites” list on...
Read moreTerry's has been at this location since the 80s. Ownership has stayed within the same family from day one. Giving this place 5 stars does not make it a 5 star place. Quite the opposite. It's divey, it's local, cheap drinks in a dirty glass, and huge portions of DAMN GOOD FOOD at prices so ridiculously low you will gladly be accepting of any shortfalls Terry's might have now and again. If you want the best service experience Terry's has to offer, call ahead and ask if Davin is working behind the bar, if so, come in and sit at the bar. Other than placing your order, you won't have to ask for anything. It just magically appears, because he is a pro bartender and anticipates what you will need before you have a chance to ask for it. He's a rare bird in the industry anymore.
EXAMPLE OF INSANE FOOD PRICING AT THE TIME OF THIS REVIEW: 8oz HAND CUT filet mignon with HOMEMADE dinner rolls, a generously portioned house salad, and one side. $21.99! I'll say it again...$21.99!
How good can it be you ask? Go find out for yourself. There is no doubt Terry's hand cuts their steaks from the loin. They also make all of their bread in-house from scratch. This includes sandwich and hamburger buns. It's off the chain how much food you get for so cheap....AND SO GOOD!
Terry's is a local's best kept secret, but it won't be for long. A new 300+ housing development is going in a block away. It's a matter of time before you won't be able to get a seat at Terry's without a long wait. Get in there while the getting is good. There aren't many places left on the planet like Terry's.
I highly recommend Terry's for bar, sports bar, dining, billiards, jukebox, and good food at a good value. The kitchen is small and sometimes takes a while to get the food out, but at these prices, just deal with it, and don't be that person who persecutes the servers and management over it. It is what it is, and what it is -- is so good and so cheap. So what if it takes longer than the corporate cookie cutter cardboard food down the street that costs twice as much? Cool heads prevail. Order another beer and enjoy what Terry's...
